He'll be a pretty good player wherever he plays. I've been telling his family to bring him out to walkies for a few years now but I think we've missed the boat there. Good on macca and pnu for seeing the talent in him and giving him a crack oin the seniors.

How'd you go stopping him milky?

For how badly we played & how well Walkies played I think he was reasonably well held for the day. Spent a significant amount of time 1 out in the goal square. He finished with 6, but with the magnitude, ease & quality that the ball came in with the baby faced one could have had a massive day out.
Pretty rough day at PNU... I didn't mind the twilight C grade game tho.

Ah well. Clearly the posters here struggle to give credit where it is due.

The only way that would be true is if DFromm was hanging round an all girls primary school POW. Even then the girls would look too old for him POW POW :D

Ah! I see what you've done there! You've taken my joke and flipped it back on me! Nice. Very clever.

Are the Payneham lads training this week or was the weekend's clinic enough to carry them through for a week or two?

Well played On Song! Must admit that Walkies were a very strong unit & from what i've seen would have to be favourites with ROC's to go up this year.
Not saying Fromm wasn't good, he was very solid. But, IMO Fisher & the big Mark Blake look alike were the most dangerous players on the ground.

Finally! Some sense here! Good work MBK. The lads still kicked a score themselves, so can't be all negatives.

Anyone have a team of the year they would like to share with the forum?? From a Port Districts view, Steven Clay would have to be in there as a Stevie Milne forward pocket, Ben Gunning would be an assest in the middle and there is always Buzz McDowell and skipper Ryan Sampson having good season but maybe not good enough for team of the year.

Obvious selections like Lister and Willoughby, SPOC players like Roberts, Cantwell and Hardy would surely be in there. Fisher and Fromme form would pushing selection from Walkies. PAOC would have to feature somewhere as maybe Byrne. Hurley-Wellington from Uni's played really well against as on a HFF but not sure if he is consistent enough. Has PNU Jolly had a good enough year to feature?? Surely there is more from ROCS and SPOC's that would feature?? Who would hold down Full Back?? Maybe whoever has had the better of Lister over the two games?? Anyone else from Athelstone, Modbury, Old Iggies??

Just a few random questions to get the league quietest forum talking.... :) :)

From Modbury probably Tim Davey (MID/FP) and Sam Scudds (FB/CHB) would be our nominations. The rest have had injury interupted seasons unfortunately.

You can purchase fish and chips as one collective item. Kinda like bacon and eggs etc.

As for team of the year and backman, Rowett and Brimacombe (early in the season) from PNU always seems to feature in the bests for them, plus midfielders Davey, Scudds and maybe Hofmeyer from Modbury, Dawes from ROCS, hmmm alot of players from ROCS have been consistent just hard to fit them into a team of the year? Gonna be interesting how it gets picked!

This Saturday the Walkerville Football Club will be celebrating its 110th Anniversary and 100th year at its current home ground on Smith St. In light of this the A grade side will wear a replica guernsey (shown below) from 1911, and a set of the replica Guernseys will be available for auction during and after the A grade game. The day will also be Past Players Day and the Premiership Reunions for the B Grade sides of 1971, 1981 and 1991. The celebrations will start at 2pm with drinks and food provided for all past players.
Thanks to JS Sports for helping produce the guernseys
