I will see you for a beer then mate.

I heard today that you had a dual-Norm Smith medalist training with the Phantoms this week...and it wasnt Gary Ayres.

That narrows it down :) Unfortunately we're getting him ready for someone else but great for the young lads. Not bad for some of the old blokes as well. The word smooth comes to mind. Who's spreading rumours?

Just got home from the Portland v PHOS trial, which PHOS won by a couple of goals despite being down by around a goal or so at half time when I got there.

PHOS were lucky not to have their score wiped after a head count in the last quarter. ;)

Very funny stuff!

Gee I've never seen that in a trial. Actually having a player count. One if the funniest things!! At first I thought they were going to have a rendition of the national anthem then they started a head count. Were Portland that desperate for the win lol

It was pretty funny, but think you will find it was one of our Lucindale lads, Walsh who called the count for a laugh. Maybe PHOS were desperate for the win, having 1 extra on the ground... ;)

For the record, i believe PHOS won by 17 points. Good hitout for our blokes.

BTW Hollywood, nice of you to say hello...i was standing next to FC when you called her over...

So was the extra bloke worth the 17 points? 8)

Hollywood probably didn't want to talk to you after he overheard you bagging Mitcham Felch ;)

All good mate, didnt realise it was you blokes until FC said afterwards.

Walsh is a gun, he came in handy for us tonight as Perkins and Vessali both were unavailable. That was Prior's first run for the club, so hopefully he will just get better from there. No Laslett or Granleese tonight either for us, so it was good to see some other faces step up.

I can't understand the point of playing players from Lucindale in your trial.
Trials aint all about winning, their about players ( team-mates ) gelling together & working on your gameplan & structures.
Players that want to head bush for $$$$ shouldn't get the satisfaction of having their cake & eating it too.
What do Portland get out of playing these Lucindale blokes?
I'd be having a look at some young lads while you have the opportunity, give them a taste so they know what they have to work on to play at that level & hold a permanent position in the side.
Throwing them in the deep end when your down on numbers during the year taking a punt could prove costly.

Spot on NoMercy. Don't think your the only one who feels this way. I'm also surprised that Pearce is playing these guys. To let them train train with your group is one thing, but to have them in your trials is an odd choice. It offers misleading results, and if I was a borderline A grade player missing out on a spot in a trial then I would be fairly annoyed.

Is there a connection with pearce and lucindale or just coincidence? districts had 3 players from there last year, good blokes, not sure where they're playin this year I can't recall their names in the clearances

How's Stinky going out there ? any master moves yet or is he out there to give the young lads some guidance :D
