Yes they do, unless he's not financial.

We just had to go through some horrid appeals process to the SANFL to get some kid from birdwood, as they refused to clear him. Nobby I think his name is..not that Japanese kid from BB either..

Sounds like a wanker! What has it been three rounds and its already everyone else's fault that he cant make a huge impact; did he stop to think that maybe the Hills league is actually a little easier as he gets to play on gimps every second week! If the delivery is so bad didn't he come down the hill with two mates? Wouldn't Whitey be one of his key deliveres of the ball along with Grossman?

Raggies discard this bloke and fast, bring up and under 18 and help him develop plus you've got big Duigan who needs another challenge.

Joey? Are you serious?

Once upon a time he was a gun and respected for his abilities up forward.

The last 2 games I've seen of him (1 being the the GF last year), he looks dis-interested.. like he's not enjoying his footy at all and looks somewhat uncomfortable in the role that has been given to him.

Hence possibly a new challenge maybe? Either way piss Gordon off so he can go back to the Hills and dominate players with no ability to make himself feel like a champion again - to be honest he was never overwhelming to begin with given a half decent opponent.

Ever stopped to thing maybe Benny Gordon just wasn't enjoying his footy down at Athlestone? He's a gun player and a gun bloke, but he probably doesn't take his footy quite as seriously as some...if he did, he could play anywhere!

Lofty is an awesome club he'll be welcomed back with open arms.

We played lofty in a trial and they are half the team they have been in previous years. the footy they play is very different that div 2. harder pressure on the man and poorer skills so obviously something else is the problem. If he leaves due to poor delivery it shows his lack of heart and Athelstone are prob better off without the money chasing player.

If he get suspended he cant play for lofty this week can he?? How big of a hole does this leave Athelstone in???

What is it with this ongoing stigma about the Hills teams? Yes not all of the teams are up to scratch, but the top 5 would take it to most of your Div 2 sides. I know they are only trials but how many Div 2 sides do Lofty have to beat to gain a bit of respect? And have you seen the centre line for Hahndorf this year? It would murder most Div 1 sides. Being a Lofty guy sometimes I wish we could be released into the amateur League just shut a few blokes up.

I wish they would let Lofty down to be shut up. Hahndorf's centreline would not murder a div 1 side, they couldn't even murder Walkerville. Hahndorf just has a few players which weren't up to league or reserves standard and they think they will murder div 1 sides ha.

Lofty would probably be a top 5 team in div 2 along with Uraidla. This means that whenever they are playing a different side they are playing substandard competition.

Are all Div 1 and 2 centrelines League standard? That comment makes no sense at all! Stupid!

Hahndorf think they are great because they had a few guys come back from the city who weren't up to league standard. Divs 1 and 2 are full of blokes who didn't crack league. 80% of div 1 players would have been at a league club at some stage. Hahndorf centreline might be shit hot in the Hills but not in town. As I said, they couldn't even beat a div 3 club.

Yeah the strength of a club should be measured on its bottom 7 players as well as its top 7.

Im sure the top clubs, Lofty and Uraidla could match it in div 2 and they would appreciate the better standard of the comp as a whole rather than the floggings that get dished out in 2/3 of there games.

What a load of carp! Lofty are far from world beaters; this is another occurance of being big fish in a small pond and thinking your a bit better than you are. The Hills grounds are terrible, your bottom 5-8 players wouldn't play A'Grade in Div 1 or Div 2 and your style of footy is to slow and sluggish with too poorer skills to play quality running sides.

You were right about one thing; trials don't mean anything and if Gordon didn't take his footy seriously it makes him an even bigger joke as he was the one that asked the Raggies for money I believe. Mate your argument has severly faulted.

Gordon is good but not great like recently quoted, struggled to get a regular gig in Div 1 when he was at Broadies, when younger and fitter, might dominate in the hills but hey, most players of some skill could play up there. Have seen plenty of footy from Div 1 through to Div 6 and heaps of Hills games. The argument that a Hills side could beat a Div 1 or even Div 2 team easily is just plain silly. But bring on an SAAFL Open V Hills and lets finish the argument.

If as is claimed the delivery is not good enough for Gordon to make an impact or enjoy his footy, maybe the comp and opposition players ie midfield are better...... it is alot harder to deliver a pin point pass under pressure from the midfield.... Sounds to me like Gordon is struggling in a better comp and wants to go back to a Lofty side that only get pressured every second game or so, which allows him to look better... Big Fish syndrome again???
