Footy Fan I reckon districts might need the profits to pay Lynchy's match payment.
Would Lynch really be on that much. There are far better players than him in that team that would deserve more than him. Have seen him play numerous times both SANFL and Amateur league and in my opinion he is very over rated and thinks he is a bit more important than he really is. One of the great football mysteries is how he ended up on Port Powers list. Perhaps his old man was mates with Mick Moylan or something.
Newman, & Cracker, I wouldnt think Lynch would be on that much, same as when he was at seaton. I would have thought the blokes like Steed, Christofis, Gates, Puecker, Baggot, Perry to name a few would be on way more than Lynch. Agreed though that it is a great wonder how he was on Powers list, and played SANFL. Rairly plays that well in amatuer league!! Far better players running around...

fair bit of pressure on pt districts this week have paid out a lot of money to try & get back into A1 if you remember the quote from a ex-magpie/pt district person earlier in the year that they are a D1 club playing in D2

no you havent touched a sore spot, i just know the facts. Maybe if we get in div 1 next year, then we might spend some money. Yep Lynch is playing, and he's playing some good footy too.

I think you might be on the money Fudd, I hear there are some tempers flaring behind closed doors with some of the more senior players (and they're the usual suspects) not that happy with the direction the coaching group want to head over the next few weeks.

you have to be kidding me Hafey Pt districts would have to play a whole lot better than that to make A1 finals if they play like that again if that is the standard they have been playing they will be back in div 2 the following year i hope you guys pick up some more players to lift your standard, becasue a1 needs a team like districts playing but they would want to play alot better than that...

Hafey, any truth to the story downs a Largs yesterday that Roger Delaney will succumb to the pressures of having a new General Managers job and a relatively new set of twins at home and not be in a position to coach next year??????????

Mmmmmmmmmm, A1 finals in 2008, don't get ahead of yourself old timer you blokes aren't that good. There's a rule of thumb that to be as successful in the higher grade than a club was in the lower, you have to replace 8-10 current A graders with 8-10 new and better ones, you blokes simply don't have the infrastructure to support such a growth and to be frank, Rowan would have his work cut out for him finding 10 blokes of any ability wanting to play there let alone one that can actually play and that not taking into consideration natural attrition and the fact that some of you prime movers are nearing the end of any productive football. Don't confuse my assessment with a sledge far from it, I genuinely think the comp would be better off having Districts a solid contributor to the A1 comp but the reality is that Districts like Seaton, PHOS and Edwardstown are not Div 1 clubs when assessing the comp over time. You may stick around for a year or two but history is not on your side. Up down up down, not a real good testimony. Still the main thing is you believe it so stick with it.

Rotter you definately have your finger on the pulse with the Delaney prediction , fingers crossed he will find time in his busy schedule to guide us to some success next year .

The attraction of playing A1 along with some intelligent recruitment will see more quality players at the club next year , i can tell you the Port Magpies will provide us with some of the recruits for next year due to our strong connection with past and present players .

On the other side of the coin , clubs like Kilburn are going to find it tough to entice players to play A3 with a already poor culture and reputation . You can place Kilburn in the same catergory as Wingfield Royals , Smithfield and West Coydon and are only a year or two away to facing off against them in games .

Absolutely, someone should be strung up for allowing the Kilburn FC to fall into such a dire position. Div 1 aside the club has fallen into a rut that will be very difficult to drag themselves out of and recent off field happenings only worsen the situation. I have no connection to the KFC except for playing against them but anybody would have to accept they play a big part in that local community.

With regard to your comments on your club, you're right A1 is a recruiting tool and Port Adelaide Magpies will always prove to be a tremendous ally but the impression I get from afar is while it's a valuable quality in the loyalty from those who are in your area to the club/s it also threatens to be a weakness in that unless you're from "the port" your'e not in the loop.
Might be wrong but perception is reality.

Yep, agree Hafey! Districts didn't look that convincing, however, neither did Seaton. :? Most of Seaton's best work was on the rebound after a Districts mistake, and there were quite a few! Far to many kicks around the body for my liking and kicks that went over heads, maybe it was Seaton's pressure, but their kicking skills looked ordinary. They have quite a few players that can bet the hard ball, but have average disposal. Quite a few of their better players had quiet days, but that can get rectified in a couple weeks time. Looked a couple big men short as well.
