Wingfields No.4 swooped on the ball between FB / CHB then sprinting through the middle of the ground having the confidece of bouncing in sloppy conditions & no one could catch him then he nailed from 40m out in blowy conditions while still running at full pace.

lazy Fitzroy defence!
Great goal though.
Wingfield actually have some talent- add some discipline, who knows where they could go.

Pooraka if they keep a full side won't be easy beats as they fight games out well.
Wingfield with 2 x wins on the trot are now only % outside top 5.
Woody Sth keep the slight finals hopes alive after beat us today congrats to the Cats as they wanted the ball more & are only 2 games out but still have 5 rounds to make it into Top 5.
Good finish coming up to the season coming up

Woody South the one to watch I think. Some interesting stats - they had 15 different players Saturday from the Rd 1 side, Fitzroy beat them easily by 15 goals first half of the season then lost to them by 5 goals, 20 goal turnaround. Lost to Scotch by 13 goals early as well and even got beaten by CBCOC the bottom side by 2 goals in the first half as well. Has definitely the ability to shake up the final five.

How is this for karma, I talk up Woody South then their coach (who I believe is also the president) after last weeks game complains to the league yet again about my umpiring which I freely admit is about on par with the lofty heights and skill sets of C3 footy. The result is the league advising the club I am not to umpire the last four games of the season. I may be a rubbish club umpire but I only ever pay what I see and do not cheat regardless of the scoreline and what other clubs may think. Apparently I have a bad rap sheet so not to do the club a disservice it is probably best that I do not umpire again next year, and thank god I hear emanating from the opposition clubs. Oh well, so be it.
What is interesting to me is that what literally amounts to a four game suspension for me (OK some of you are sprobably saying I should get life) during the season and not having a go at WS for comparisons only 2 x Woody South players found guilty of striking get 4 games in total and one Elizabeth player gets 4 games for abusing an umpire. To top it off the same coach earlier in the season abuses and threatens a 15 yo boundary umpire for not calling the ball out of bounds on the full. I did pay a 25 metre penalty against him for that, maybe that's why he doesnt like me!
Special thanks to all those players who have abused & threatened me, called me a cheat etc during the ten games I have officiated in this season (and thats just the EPFC players) and condolences to all the other club umpires who have to put up with the vitriolic rubbish directed at them every week.

Wazza's version doesn't make sense. I've never heard of the league telling a club umpire to move on. They just picked Wazz out did they?.cracka wrote:I've said before on other forums, anyone guilty of abusing an umpire should be suspended, go to umpires training & then actually umpire a game before being allowed 2 play or attend games again. I'm talking players, spectators & club officials etc. I reckon the abuse would stop real quick.
