Not too bad as I am Pro Triples but those clubs that have never or will never agree, will probably continue on with rejecting them. Similar thoughts?

Why would any club reject triple headers? - has me beat actually. Three games on the one oval each Saturday. Ovals only have to be marked once, same volunteers, same bar and canteen is manned by the same people thus not having two set of volunteers and a myriad of other reasons. Can not think of a single reason why clubs would think of rejecting triple header games, unless for "an exceptional one off reason" such as a wedding, or the like where the whole side was in attendance. Even then - why would you get married in football season, or take holidays?

If anyone can tell me why some clubs would not have triple headers, then please advise, as it would appear sheer stupidity not to play them. Awaiting convincing otherwise and more than happy to listen to any good arguments, so let us know why any club would not think they are a fantastic idea.

Player availability, you might have a few that can't play in the morning due to employment. Volunteers/ helpers might be a bit stuffed from being there from 9am to 6pm, I like the idea but can see why others wouldn't.

Agree that is about the only Negatives, if think the postives win just.

Some council leases do not allow for matches before midday + work commitments is the major reason for non triple headers.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

Also wear and tear on the ovals in the middle of winter. Some weeks last year we had to shorten training as the oval was a mess. Imagine having two games before the A grade on a oval that is a bog. Doesn't make for good A grade footy!!

So how will your oval hold up this year with two games every Saturday plus juniors I presume all Sunday?

This draft completly fails!

Im only still playing because we had a good ratio of triple headers so i could still supports our As and Bs.

If im off playin at 2:15 every week at some other ground im done..

My only suggestion is to make all C grade games at 10:15 to pair the C grade home side with their senior sides home games where possible. Only way im gonna keep interested in 2012.

You wouldn't be the only one Duncs.

Using your idea how about this...
Div 8 play 10.15 before home team, and Div 8R play 10.15 before away team.

eg.. Unley v Mitcham in Div 8/8R

Div 8 Unley v Mitcham 10.15 at for example Kingswood (followed by Jets As and Bs in Div 4)
Div 8R Unley v Mitcham 10.15 (prior to Mitchams As and Bs in Div 3)

one team would be playing with As and Bs, other team would be there for 1/2 time of the B grade.

...not sure if this could possibly work??

Only every second week. At the moment, you probably play every week on the ground

Their is always going to be a divide on this matter, personally I would rather play at 12:15 or 2:15 and not 10:15.

Readings overrated! I shoot from the mouth ask questions later :p

And my key point was ALL games at 10:15. Even those that don't participate in Triples. Like the As 1 time for all.

Not so sure you can dictate a starting time to clubs Duncs. Chairman Mao Tse-tung has left the building, thankfully, and giving clubs and players an option should always be the way to go.

With all the reasons outlined here from the various clubs, as to why they can not all play at 10.15am, then the early start would not be the same as programming both the reserves and senior fixtures at both 12.15 and 2.15, I would not have thought. Perhaps, a little bit more flexibility with the C Grade teams and the starting times, between the clubs is the go.

We should have final word on how this will work out after meeting next week (correct me if im worng but the 7th is popping up in my head and cant be bothered checking SAAFL site). Will be very interesting to see how they (league) handle rejections, suggestions, alternatives or people in the affirmative for the changes. Myself, i am keen to understand how the league will attack the idea if the majority of clubs decline the new proposal. Not to mention the triple header submissions now where you need to advise if you dont want them when previoulsy it was the other way around. We all know this, but change is as good a sanything in some regards. Some will have their noses outof joint others will embrace it. I like the promotion relegcatuon aspect. Gives a C side something to strive for other than a flag. Anyway who knows what will come form Thebby over the next few weeks. Hopefully its for the better of ALL clubs not just those that have 7 teams or have more coin to throw about.

The bolded section is unwarranted at best (especially given the reasonableness of everything else stated); any decision taken over the last few years has been ratified by a majority of clubs eg away jumpers rather than entry dates etc meaning administration power lies with clubs forming blocs rather than individual clubs and, how much money they may or may not have. Since pokies I'd hazard a guess that those with them and run successfully may have a bit more money than clubs like Uni and smaller old scholar and traditional district clubs.

Taken out of context Finn. Not having pot shots just stating a few things that has been relayed. Those clubs that have more then 2-3 sides have the envy of a few clubs. Financial aspects is to each club and their own. The more numbers you have the bigger your voice will sound. Those that have one side can voice their oppinions but it wont go as far its just fact.
A part from that, again i hope its for the better of the league. Was anyone playing when the C grades were in the relegation system and not to mention their respective D grades? Not at any stage have ai mentioned a club should be put in any division over another. Some have drawn their own tables and have been nun too impressed with the proposal. All i can say is, get behind your club and make sure your delegates get the whole message across be it for or against it. I will say again that i am for the changes but the sides taht have been placed in certain divisions need to e looked into a little bit more.
