wristwatcher wrote:Our C Grade team named last night is very strong and has only 4 or 5 of the blokes from last year. A lot of new players, some players who took the year off of Div 1 and a Full Fwd line that features a 6,3 changing Ruck, a battle hardened veteran who loves to put things between sticks and a fwd pocket whose fingers smell remarkably like bacon. Should be a good game tomorrow against Old Iggs and its exciting to finally be at that point of "the night before Round 1"

I know being a C grade comp it's always hard but what are everyone's thoughts?
ROCS - smashed us in rd 2 when at full strength and haven't lost a game, I reckon they'll be Playin in a GF...
PAOC - obviously have talent and although we haven't played them I reckon they'll be ROCS opponents in the GF
Ovingham - have really exceeded my expectations, was hoping to be competitive and maybe pinch a win or two throughout the year. Finals are our goal and there is a real belief after running over the top of Iggies on Saturday, anywhere from 3-6 though I reckon...
Old Iggies - teams with a good full back will stop them otherwise they will make you pay, will be 3-6 at years end
SPOC - like PAOC I haven't seen them but results say they are a good side and they'll be amongst the fight for the 5 too
Walkerville - 1 and 4 iirc but only lost by a point to ROCS... I reckon they'll be 3-6 too
Uni - not the side I, and many others, expected. Will prob finish 7th IMO
PNU - sorry wristy, you blokes and Port Dist will be fighting for the spoon me thinks...
Lookin forward to a week off and a good rest of the year!
Up you CATTERS!

all you can ask for is for the umpires to be consistent
they seemed to take the conditions into account and umpired accordingly
a great job fellas
also like to thank the port district president who came onto the ground during our warm down and spoke to me to the side
i appreciated what he had to say and made sure i passed his comments onto everyone at the club
great to see one of the bigger and more successful clubs in the league take the time out for probably the smallest club in the league and his words were very much appreciated by myself and all at the club
