400 is a big call even in these days of seven on the bench - which our older players like but dread as well. Much respect to anyone who plays for that long.

I think it is senior games i remember watching him play when i was like 8-10 years old and that was about 17 years ago.

Another interesting stat is Matty Paul from EPFC has played over 400 games for Eastern Park in total counting both senior and junior games. He has never played at another football club and is only 28-29 years old. Realistically he could play 700-800 games at the club if he wanted to and the body allowed him to.

Same mate, I've known Richies family for nearly 30 years and have always remembered him playing at Eastern Park. A good fair player whom I've always enjoyed a chat with.

It would be remiss of me if I did not mention that tomorrows PHOS camden Vs Eastern Park C1 game will be the 300th game for PHOS Camden of the great man Sherif SH__ Lips Catic. Anyone that has played against PHOSC over the last 18 years would probably know Shlippy or at least they would have heard him. Shlips has been a coach a best and fairest a premiership player but most of all a very honest footballer. I'm not one for overly emotive rubbish when it comes to football however I will say that Shlips is a bit of a legend.

Well done Shlippy.

from the div 1 board

Interesting inclusion for the week not in the A's or B's but in the C1 and might come in to play late in the year Brad Dabrowski for Goodies.

That would give them some ruckmen to choose from.

was he the ex-west adelaide player?

That's the one played state footy 2009 and had last year off. Heard he only hit the track last week might be a chance to climb through the grades one would think.

They had a pretty big night on saturday, they had already planned a "Christmas In July" night for then, the win made it far biger from all reports.
I asked their captain on Friday night if they could squeeze me in for a game as it appeared that I had Saturday free, he was confident of a win, I couldn't believe that he was serious once he texted me on Saturday night.

Ha, if they can pull off a 890 point win it should get them off the bottom. I must say, I've been surprised with their rules and structure. They have lost some players along the journey this season and gained a few, they charge $10 a week for a game and they have blokes paying up Wednesday nights in advance.
They are spirited and it should put them in good steed for 2012, I'm pretty sure they'll be moving into div. 7 next season with the current crop and those who will be returning.

As said previously they are doing what they are doing with a bit of class. I know the last time we played them 1 bloke went slightly outside what they deemed the right way and they dealt with it as they went.

Good on them hope it all works for them.

Full credit to the Smithfield Football Club this year. Mentally, it takes a lot of courage and guts to go through what you boys (and men!) have experienced by way of on field results this year. It would have been very easy for the club to have forfeited and folded after a couple of games but to the players and 20 person coaching panels credit you all stuck with it and fielded a team each and every week.

It was an absolute pleasure to mingle and share a beer and a laugh with you all after the game which was by far the biggest crowd we have played in front of this year!!!

I hope the bus trip back home was as memorable (or forgetful?!) as it was for us when we did from your ground - incidently, did you stop at the Cross Keys on the way through too?!

All the best next year for what will be your big centenary year!

I will pass on those kind words mate, the bus trip home was a doozie from all reports and so was the rest of the night back at the club, they were very pleased with your hospitality.

P.S: Our umpire copped a fair bit on the way home, something about a holding the ball in the goalsquare that he let go?

he clearly didn't want you guys to get too far ahead of yourselves.
certainly the smithfield supporters ate and drank us out of pretty much everything - and our centre half back was most amused to stand (for awhile) one of his students...
