In the end, we had to go with tomorrow.
Our lights are supposed to be used in a fortnights time, not sure how that's gonna go if we're having the same issues you guys currently are, which I assume we will, as it's the same company.

pretty poor all round, with ours Pag they finally start it after 20 odd years & well behind now who knows when it'll happen??
Some of ours are pointing backwards still if I'm correct X RUNNA?

Yeah they are. Apparently they are going to be commissioned on the 22nd March - hope so as we have a twilight trial on the 26th.
We've got a twilight game on the 26th as well, fingers crossed.

Game against Pooraka was a good hit-out. Pooraka were missing Coghill, Rankine, Naylor, M Watts, Paradiso, Greaves and probably a couple of others from the GF team, but showed enough that they'll be competitive in Div 3. Will avoid relegation I reckon.

I went down to watch the game between para hills and greenacres it was 2 games 3qtrs each game 20 mins each qtr first 3 being a mix of A and B grade for greenacres and a mix of B AND C for the hills was as expected a 1 way game greenies winning by around 14 goals.

2nd set of 3 qtrs were again A and B for greenies about 8 fresh players and A grade and some fringe A players for para hills this game started as a faily even game with para hills trying out a few combos up forward and it seemed in my opinion they were missing that key target up forward and by the end of the 2nd qtr was still faily even with greenies just in front if i remember correctly. In the third qtr the hills got it working together and looked good with some players stepping up to the challenge and blowing the opposition away (not taking anything away from greenies they were good).

So in the end I feel greenacres will be a very strong in 2011 they did really well considering quite a few of them played full 6 qtrs.

Para hills i was very concerned about the hole that was left with Shane Hanson leaving but Bangers seems to have it covered and a few of the players really looked good in fact 1 looked as good as he has in a couple of years. They will do ok they will have to work hard all year but they will win their fare share I think the new coach has fired a few of the A grade players up and will surprise some people who have written them off.
This my opinion only.
A few Salisbury boys down there on saturday as well pag including wardie.?

Your right mate. Early Monday morning session. To try and have numbers on a Monday night when you've had all the flair that Adelaide has to offer at this time of year would be like flogging a dead horse. To the guys credit we had good numbers and with a BBQ breakfast at the end with the highlite being free iced coffee's (for me anyway).
We look good for our next trial and for round 1 which should be a good one against Smosh.

Any other news from trials around the place?

There were four of us who hung around to watch Greenacres for the first quarter after having a punt on the Australian Cup at the Community Club. Didn't see Wardy though.

yeah the flinders boys are up and about down a $$$$$$ park. they will be the bling side this year. Still think Pembroke will have enough depth to be a solid side in div 3. Flipper how are the dolfins looking this year. Douglas is a big loss??? I pick CBC to finish top 5 this year.

my prediction for the ladder

Flinders Park: too much quality. ross christie to dominate all year
PortLand: Will have close to the best Forward line in the comp certain ex districts player to win medal
CBCOC: looking to improve from last year, Douglas big loss
Mitcham: side on the up would not suprise a top 3 finish
Smosh: has to improve on last year. new coach and a new feeling at the club.

Golden Grove: will just miss finals action. will push most sides and upset a few during the year
Pembroke: a bit of the unknowns.
Pooraka: a club on the improve again after hitting rock bottom. proud club will be around the mark most games
Para Hills: hanson missing is a huge loss. could suprise and are tough to beat at home
Seaton: have only heard about players leaving. not good from the word on the BLVD

I heard that you guys were playing there under lights mate. I played there a few years back now. Loved it. The atmosphere was awesome. Big call from another side that havent even suited up in the division yet. I know they may be confident like all ofus but you guys finished up well enough last year. Hopefully the pie of humbleness will taste good for them. Mind you with the extra ingredients of please can we have extra points because we dropped a division will make the taste even better

Would agree with most here mate. Although FP i would have to wait and see what they are capable of. Its always hard to turn ut around the year after dropping. May be a different story for them, who knows? Id give smosh more credit though, maybe a spot higher. Para Hills should recover with the talk they have had and whispers (i will highlite whispers). Would like nothing more than to see the Boulevard dwellers to drop. Would give some of the deserters a bit of a wake up taht the grass isnt always greener that side of the lake. Other than that rather good predictions i think. Except the thunda winning the flag (no not being cocky just hopefull, besides the forward you were probably thinking about has retired and coaching now ;) )

Ran into a FPFC player the other day "The side we've got, we won't lose a game all year". I Smiled and said, you msut be forfeiting a few then :p

Division 3 is still a very even and competitive league. Most sides are capble of knocking off anyone on a given day.

I think they'll be good - as good as they're predicting? not so sure. Still got Portland as the one to beat - can't wait for round 1!

Saw the second half of the Seaton v Pembroke trial. Didn't recognise that many Seaton players from last year but had a couple that looked alright. Both teams looked to be struggling for height but most likely key position players were injured/away. Hard to judge how either are travelling but there were a few passages of play that looked good for either side. Pembroke did have a full forward that led very well and was a good target to kick to.

the dolphins will b competitive still tryin to square away a few recruits which will make a big diff. The first half of the season is really important cause we dont get to see our own deck till rd 8 i think it is. Flinders park gettin more points what a joke! Fp, How confident r they? They reek of arrogance and i lack of respect for the rest of the div. Fp have a massive target on thier back. Not ideal for a club comin down from duv 2. Cant wait to chuck the kitchen sink at these blokes. Who is the idiot who signed the bit of paper to allow these blokes more points?

Wouldn't have a clue mate - Was still cricket season on saturday for me.

The talk was we struggled a bit - but thats kind of expected against a div 1 side i guess.

Couple of injuries out of it though - spewing to get done this early in the season - I'm hoping to make rd 3 unscathed for a new record.

agreed it is a big call, they will have to learn how to win games again tho. but they are still the team to beat in my book.

speaking of humbleness pie. i caught a certain high profile recruit for Portland running his mouth off in Maccas after the races monday.
if it wasn't for his girlfriend pulling him away, he would have bet a bunch of SMOSH lads 12 cartons you guys were gonna win in round 1.

lucky for us she was there. i was already down enough by that stage. but that is some pretty cocky stuff by someone who has never played in div 3, or even a game for his club.

How is the Knee coming along Fisty?

the game against SHOCS went pretty well. we played 6 quarters, our A-grade played the last 4.
we started out really well, and i think even won the first quarter, maybe 3 goals to 2, but then the SHOC A's came on for the last 3 quarters and i don't think we touched the ball again. we had them matched for size, but their speed was superior, and they played more disciplined(structured) than we did
not many injuries to report, other than 1 guy getting heat stroke and a hamstring.
