Walkerville certainly turned around a poor start:
First 6 games: 1W, 5L
Last 6 games: 6W

Its amazing how quickly things turn around when you get players back on the field, just look at PAOC a few injuries to the wrong people and the wheels fall off. sure we have got 1 or 2 mid year recruits but all clubs try to recruit right up to the cut off date.

no one said anything about walkerville when we were getting key players back to match fittness now we are up and running we get questioned on players that have played the whole year. correct me if i am wrong but a players form has no effect on the points they have attached to them, so why has it taken til now for everyone to have a cry.

Lift, the form reversal must be attributed to D Fromm recovering from his troublesome hamstring. Surely.

Correct Cash.... They were a well disciplined and structured side when we played them, great around the stopages and agile height up FWD.

But what has suprised me is the number of Walkerville posters that have come out in the last day

We may as well join in the fun and frivolity with everyone else. There hasnt been a lot of action on this thread, I guess when Portland isnt in your div its pretty quiet ;)

Maybe you have only just piped up beacuse you were worried about having to hear their crap on the Div 3 thread after looking like playing Div 3 with them next year after your first 6 rounds.

It did look that way but i reckon we're doing ok now

Is anyone in the loop at Old Iggies? Lost to Rostrevor by a bit on the weekend which isn't that odd for this season, but seemed to have a few players in the A's that were playing B grade earlier in the year.
Have they been hit hard by injuries, or exams been an issue the last couple weeks even?

heard that districts will be without Deke Smith for the rest of the year as he requires surgery on his bicept, huge loss for districts as he has been kicking bags of goals and has played a big roll in turning there season around

I could not agree more OnSong D Fromm’s form has be excellent, he is quick has great hands and kicks goals when we need him to. He is one of the guys I was referring to when I said key players back to match fitness. Has the ability to become a gun in this grade, just needs a good run with injuries

Walkies beat ROCS by 46pts. Lister's only kicked 1 I reckon.

Tough run home for Districts playing the top 4 sides in the last 5 rounds. One would think may struggle to make the finals along with PAC with their current form slump from here on, so the top 5 may be set.

Very correct. They have clashed before and it seems he hasnt learned from his fo-par the week before v SPOC  . He very much upset GMac and whilst the Raggies player in question may be a decent bloke off the field his behaviour on it leaves a little to be desired  .
None the less well done to the Raggies who were far too good for us on Saturday. Injuries have decimated our season and relegation now looks almost certain :(

the player inquestion plays it tough no doubt but if team such as Payneham try and ruffle his feathers and get a response what would they expect. He did nothing wrong on Saturday except play hard tough footy he doesnt run around and whine about the hits he takes every week people putting blocks on 60m off the ball etc

How many did the gun forward Fromm get on the weekend? Aside from the ladies, how many goals did he kick?

Payneham players didnt give away any high tackles late bumps etc??

ask an Old Iggies player formally of Glenelg about some of the tactics used by some of the alter boys of Payneham. by all reports the particular player finished the game with pinch marks all over him at the games end. The particular player was at again Saturday but there were no complaints laid its just footy but if clubs are going to cry about stuff like that then dont do it yourselves!

Considering that the player who received that broken jaw (which no-one likes to see or hear about) was putting on a shepherd for the SPOC player with the ball it seems a little far fetched that it was 60m away, never let the facts get in the way of a good rumour.

Not saying we're perfect on the field. Of course there was high tackles & a couple of missed timed hits. The club has also worked very hard to improve the discipline of the mentioned individual & has had quite good sucess (on the weekend, it was the worst he had been for a while, but still better then his history). I hadn't heard of the pinching incident tho. Whilst this is perhaps unethical, it has had it place on the football field for ages. It's personally not a tactic i'd use.
The incident we're taking exception too, shouldn't have a place on the footy field... And thats all i'll say about it...

As for our season, it's been a very disappointing one. But while theres still a chance we've got to keep going and do our best to pull ourselves out of our predicament.
Injuries have hit & have seriously disrailed our season. We knew when we started our depth wasn't the best, but the number of injuries has built up far beyond what any of us expected. I think our best result for a game this year is only one injury...
Hopefully the group can stay together next year & get our proud club back to the level it should be (which moves are already being made to ensure).
