I see your point zedman, but that one kick out of the middle at Kingswood Oval has 12 blokes around the one contest. I play at Salisbury so I know how big ovals work, and we've had hauls of 9 and 10 this year with a bloke leading out and marking the ball on his chest with nobody within 30 metres of him except for his direct opponent.

My point simply is, the bigger the oval, the less blokes he has in his area making his contest more difficult than it has to be.

C'mon Duncs you can't be serious??? You are correct our form in Div 5 for the last 5 years isnt crash hot but saying were suited to div 6-7 is ridiculous mate. For starters we have never been in div 7 and secondly all of our clubs SAAFL A grade flags are from div 4 or higher including 2 SAAFL div 1 flags which has always been the best Amateur competition in South Australia.I'll admit that I don't have the full history of Elizabeth F.C but I reckon id be correct during your time in SAAFL you have not been higher than A4 standard??On top of that every one from both of our clubs know that both of our sides from 2005 would be better than each team in div 5 this year..........

With only a miracle saving Brahma Lodge from being relegated to Div 6, it would seem that the money thrown at some of the Salisbury North b graders to play there has been wasted. What are the chances of these players staying for another year iwhen they will be in div 6?

Can a club like Brahma Lodge support 2 teams?

Is it time for a few of the northern suburb teams to look at merging in the hope of being able to survive at a decent level?
I hope u are standing right in the middle of the track when the KARMA train comes.................and it is coming, its time!

plympton is a dark horse in the finals..capable of the big upset for sure

pag i hear ya..but..the smaller the ground the more goals get kicked therefore the more goals scored by forwards..u cant argue with that mate !

I'm gonna have to disagree with that one.
Duncs, we were only ever good in Div 2 of SAFA.
When we went up to Div 1, we started getting a caning.
I remember, as I was on the scoreboard or running drinks for most of that time!
I would have thought around the time that Div 1 SAFA would have been no higher than the standard of Div 2 Ammos at a pinch.

CU are screwed now, No Full forward and their captain out for last game and Elimination final. Brett really is a stupid waste of talent.

I was at the Tribunal last night, as a witness, and was speaking to Brett before I got called in. He was the 1st name to be called out at the start of the night but the reporting umpire hadnt shown.. 20 mins later out comes the official and asks a 2nd time, still no umpire... The official says to Brett we'll give him 10 more mins and if he hasnt shown we'll more than likely chuck the case out... The umpire rocked up just he got called for the 3rd time!

2 weeks for
"Bumping or making forceful contact to an opponent from front on when player has his head down over the ball"
Would i right in sayin this is the first time a saafl player has been suspended for this? Havent seen it before and i check the tribunal results every week!

Also funny that the Smithfield goal umpire had no charge to answer when the messenger yesterday ran on the front page in large bold print.
"Goal ump lets fly" A Smithfield Under 18s footy umpire has been reported for abusing a fellow umpire, adding further notoriety to his teams already troubled reputation"

Great publicity for Smithies there, glad it wasnt us :D But i know i would be seething if i was was that scumhole

I think the charge was "erring on the side of caution"...
2 weeks was probably generous for clothes-lining a player.
