What an incredible effort from Smithfield! To think it wasn't that long ago the club was reduced to one team playing in C1.. then suspended from D7 a few games out from finals 4 years ago, and have since gone on a rampage winning D7, D6 and now in a D5 GF! What a run! To think they could be in D4 next season is crazy!

Congrats to Smithfield, well done, I hope you win it Saturday.. =D>

Agreed. I remember playing them back in div 7 and it was an absolute fortress. You'd cop a rough reception from a huge crowd lining the oval for four quarters, then as soon as that siren had gone, they were easily more hospitable than many other clubs from more 'affluent' areas and you'd be in there for a few free jugs. I actually enjoyed playing there.

Hope they get it done this week. There are obviously some great people who are doing brilliant things behind the scenes.

You would think talks would be in their final stages now considering Pulteney approached Glenunga about 2 months ago now. Maybe an announcement may come presentation night??

I wonder if the league is asking lockleys to wear their clash jumpers as both them and Pulteney are navy and Pulteney finished higher so one would assume they get to wear their navy blue.

Yeah they are. So one would assume Lockleys will wear their clash jumper, which is what? Makes sense as its obviously a big game and would be far easier for the players and supporters of both clubs.

Not quite. Apparently Lockleys clashes with Pulteney but Pulteney doesn't clash with Lockleys.
Lockleys- Eastern Park, Pooraka, Pulteney
Pulteney- Adelaide University, Blackfriars OS, Eastern Park, Flinders University, Henley, Port District, Pooraka, Scotch OC

And here's our clash jumper as per the club listing on the SAAFL website.

Congrats to Hayden Martinello in winning the D5 medal. A great year for a young man returning to his junior club to play with his mates. Hayden is a wonderful example to all of our players. Very professional & committed. From memory he has not missed a session since pre-season began & leads from the front in all ways. We at Lockleys FC are very proud of Hayden.

Best of luck to our D5R boys this week v Pultney. A great effort to make the GF from 4th. Coach Paul Howlett & his team are to be congratulated for reversing form & confidence after mid-season injuries & unavailability's hit hard. We are in it & as such we can win it. Go #deesbees

Also congrats to Hectorville & Smithfield for Saturday's GF. You were the form sides at the pointy end.
