I thought the umpiring was alright today. No real noticeable decisions although Jolly gets away with a lot.

Modbury were a disciplined side who stuck to their structures, but probably not good enough to go over a whole 4 quarters.

Tbs, I thought their structure actually lost them the game, went loose man in defence straight away, and at times had 2/3 extra trying to chop off the incoming kick. Can keep u in the game for a period but you can't win with that as you will eventually tire and make mistakes. They had some good runners with half decent skill and should back them in imo

Good solid win by Gepps today. Josh Wittwer was superb with 7 and kicked some fantastic goals while also racking up heaps of possessions. The usual suspects in Stengle and Hand were also great. Sugars kicked 7 for SHOC. SHOC almost stole it at the end getting to within 11 points with about 4 mins to play after we were up by 40 odd points 10 mins earlier but we kicked a couple of late goals to secure the win. Finished with what looked like 16 fit men with Huddo standing in the goal square barely able to move and highly unlikely to play for a few weeks. Next week we play Portland. Going to be tough especially with our injuries but looking forward to it. Toby Bowman played Bs and was named best so is likely to come up next week.
Go you Redbacks!

Extremely dissapointing result for my lads on Saturday. To end up playing with 17 against a side that like and going to sleep again in a 3 rd quarter. You wouldnt expect a different result. Walkerville will not loose the favortism to win the flag this year. Although i havent seen SHOC or come up against them yet. I guess Wlkerville's loss to them a few weeks back may have been a bump in the orad. To come up against such a high calibre of an opponenet was in some patches awesome to watch.. They back themselves in and create the space to no end. Perfect example is Cannane (21), Tape was exceptional up fprward and didnt look like dropping a thing and finished very well. Moore, Mudge and McEvoy IMO were brilliant . Thats the true sign of a side that has either played a fair bit of footy together and are extremely well drilled. There may not be too much to do as a coach when you have Div 1 A graders in your side but credit to him for keeping them as such a tight group. Our A grade looked fantatsic against Walkerville. Much like what we should have been. In saying that we still have improved and if compared to last years results we would have lost by the same margin Walkies beat Kilburn by. Will say that, that BBQ is bloody awesome. Easily spent $40 there. Up there for one of the best IMO. Looking forward to this week against Gepps X. Hopefully we can get a better result and gather some momentum towards the break. Other results with PAOC getting the job done easily against Districts. FP and Smosh was as close as i thought it would be. Modbury was no surprise. Looks to me like the positions from 4th to 7th will be made via percentage. With a very good top 3-4 the remaining spots will be decided by the extremes of losses VS wins. Get smoked by plenty too many times your wins wont make a difference. Walkerville against SHOC for me late in the year.

AJ and Dennis do a great job on the barbie every week, and have been doing it for a long time now. Always good to hear kudos from opposition players/supporters

dont take offence Tiga, unfortunately with the very young squad we have (some cant legally drink yet or on their Ps) the young fellas arent interested in a beer and a chat after a game and we have a number on new fathers who have family commitments. Its nothing personal but thats the way it is.

I have heard that a certain Walkerville A grader has been reported for an incident against Portland on the weekend. The game was being filmed by Walkerville. I wonder if the SAAFL will make use of this resource at the tribunal tonight? Video footage was all the rage at hearings last year. I know Walkerville have been reluctant to release the footage in question, as it has already been requested by Portland.

I doubt Portland would want to see the footage in question. They have vehemently opposed the use of video evidence at the tribunal in the past. ;)

All clubs/coaches should encourage all of their players to head into the opposition's clubroom after games. It's an important part of amateur sport. The young fellas have to know (and learn) this. It's not an onerous task.
