Depth improving, but we probably need to just focus that on the B grade.

More an idiot comment........

Calm down Cohiba. You'll have the chance to tell Sharkys in person when we play you. I'm sure he'll even let you lift his shirt.

Doubt it.......hear tell it's a long long queue......

From what I heard from Port District, SHOC were less impressive than Modbury. Would have been a good win for any Districts players still existing from when they last played in D1 who were on the receiving end of a couple of thrashings by SHOC.

Could SHOC follow in the footsteps of PNU, and Eastern Park and have a team fall from D1 to D3 in two seasons? Would be interesting to see it happen three years in a row.

Depth improving, but we probably need to just focus that on the B grade.

The game on Saturday was pretty good from my lads in the 2's. Although some were pointing us as thrashing Kilburn due to their depth and loss to their C grade. To their credit Kilburn had changes to their side and different players compared to last week and the side that lost to Walkerville by 240 pts. We were pretty good early but for some reason went to sleep in the 2nd. Kilburn piled on 4 goals and looked pretty good. We fianlly wanted to play ball after half time and managed to get some reward for our efforts over the past few weeks. We are on the improve. The game was played in very god spirits. Seems like a different Kilburn side to the last time i played. No issues or antyhng. The Kilburn ump will need to double chck the advantage ruling for next tme but thats all in the game. Atleast he admitted he made the mistake and asked for advixce form another ump for future occasions. I dont tbhink anyon e should discount Kilburn. Maybe not on the ladder but to come ou each week and have a feelng of getting a loss each time and still give it a crack, upmost respect for them. Some other interesting results form the weekened. Thought Walkrville would win by a lot more than they did, SHOC getting up over Districts where i thought Dizzies would get over the line there and I did think Modbury would get the job done over FP much like SMOSH with PAOC. With 4 sides on 3 wins and 4 on the one win. The competition is a little more lop sided than i thought it would be this early on. Some sides i think are still working there way together and into the comp but all round i think it will be a mroe even competition this year than previous years. Again, thanks o Kilburn for staying back and haveing a few beers yesterday. Supporters and players alike had a good spirited day.

Adding to that SHrek, i thought that number 14 for you guys in the B grade - Cody Gill has some class. Gave us a little touch up here and there and is very quick. Very handy little player. -1 pts on the team sheet, excuse my ignorance but where has he come from? Juniors at Kilburn then off somewhere and returned?

Ha ha neck is still creaky after that!

Satchel Cody is a Kilburn junior who played at North Adelaide. Was there at the start of this year as an over age U18.

Played a fair bit of As last year as a -1 which kept us on the limit. I reckon he goes alright and should be back in the As soon.

Obviously the contact below the knees rule isn't being paid in div 2R. One of your blokes got skittled!

I did see that mate, also the 1 metre rule for the Ruckmen at the stoppage's also. Hard to get into the game this early. It will come out in the wash i spose. Agreed on Gill, definatley a good player a bit waisted in the B grade.

In Turbo's defense, he would not have know Rae was playing with us until Saturday morning, despite the fact that Charlie found out Wednesday night.
Coming back from injury he did not get selected and was a very handy inclusion for us. We are very conscious that he is unlikely to be available going forward and as such have made very little fuss over his brief return to the lions.

We beat Modbury by about 5 goals today. Was even until the last quarter when we kicked away.

I thought the umpiring was alright today. No real noticeable decisions although Jolly gets away with a lot.

Modbury were a disciplined side who stuck to their structures, but probably not good enough to go over a whole 4 quarters.
