Played Mitchell Park many a time dont see what the big deal is.

Hailsey may think different Carey, apart from that one incident was always just a hard game of footy with plenty of chat! Hello Reno!
I wish I was as good a cricketer as what Phantom tells me he is

And he is not the thug you are making him out to be. He likes to play the game hard and yes i have seen him get in the odd scuffle when blokes step up to him. But he doesnt belt blokes behing play. i dont want to label you individually but from an outsiders perception , generally the old scholar sides that are often made up of players that have gone through the school system and played majority of there football in the amatuers dont enjoy the body contact too much. Sarge would run through a brick wall if you said it would be of benefit to his team and club. Go out and watch some country leagues mate . you will find alot more ' SARGES ' out there. if you afraid of getting hurt , maybe you should find another sport to play. I have witnessed him go back with the flight of the footy and put his head where others wouldnt dare and have huge respect for him as a footballer.

My background - played SANFL, played country, played amatuers. Never played for old scholars. Retired 14 years ago - played against some real tough sides like ferryden pk. I have respect for hard tough footballers but i know what i saw and being courageous is not what i saw.

have spent along time in footy, maybe to long ,but the beauty of the game is everyone can watch enjoy and have an opion that even tough might be different doesnt make it right or wrong.thats apart of the game that i enjoy.
but i do get p$%^##$% when low life skeltons, hiding behind key boards will have ago about apersons character, name him as a thug and what ever and then hide
for any person to label sarge a thug and what ever shows the fact that they for one dont know the man,a term i can use for him, unlike yourself,
adam is one of the most genuine guys that not only has ever played the game but been apart of any community
a family man, hard worker and passionate about the den and everything else he holds close to his heart
peopl that have ever played against him no his qualities and are always the first to go up after a game, shake his hand and offer him a drink
at this time of the year people love to come out and slag the boys from the den but its funny how they always do it from afar
the problem with you my little rodent friend,is you have forgotten how this great game is played, hard tough no quitting
the lads dont win every game but you sure as god know when you have played them but they always play it straight down theline
i might not be involved with the lions but i am proud to say that the sarges, makka boys, morgs and all the lads down their have my upmost respect, something you need to earn, something you dont have and never will

by the way,i dont hide behind key boards and not everyone agrees with me but i will say that if their was ever a club i wanted my family to be assosiated with its the lions
im darryn, lookm me up and i am happy to discuss sarge, the maccas or anyone from the den

The same old story, been hearing for 30 years.

Well I've played and coached against The Lions many times over many years. I've always enjoyed the challenge and happy to take my family there - My eldest son even Captained one of their Junior sides, years ago.

It's been my experience that if you are easily intimidated they will walk all over you - If you stand your ground give as good as you get, then the footy will determine the winner.

Pretty straight forward really, "When in Rome". ;)

Spot on Darth ... Intimidation and hard physical pressure is what Mitchell park is all about. Those that resent it will always be targeted , those that challenge it are always respected. It's funny that alot of the northern team have a great rivalry with Mitchell park cause they play the game in the same fashion

Mitchell pk will again play it tough hard and fair in 2012. But we will hopefully be a lot younger, faster and more skillful. The club has worked hard on its previous reputation and I can assure you it is the best family oriented footy club I have ever had the pleasure of being involved with. And yes, BB, I also have been involved at sanfl and div 1 amatuers for a very long time. To all the support from the genuine posters, thanks. Enough about the den, lets get some humour happenin' which is really what the forum is about.

Don't know who Bloozebrother is but he certainly doesn't represent the SHOC Football Club. Had many a good battle with Mitchell Park last season across both our C's and D's. Great club rooms, great facilities especially during the finals. D grade coach often commented that Mitchell Park where easily one of the hardest and hardest working teams that the SHOC D grade came across last year, even though it was a tad one sided. But it's a new year new teams so who knows what happens.
And with the comments raised by Bloozebrother about Sarge. Like we know who the hell he is to know whether he hit anyone. Know one came off the ground thinking they where hard done by by anyone from Mitchell Park. So we can put that one to bed. (But did find it funny that what he does outside of football was brought into it. Yank Man you sounded like Jack Nicholson in a Few Good Men with that little rant.)
And geez I'm glad everyone on here is perfect. Heath Treacy is a much loved coach and mate of everyone at the football club. He is guilty of being passionate for the club and guilty of wanting to stick up for his players. I defy anyone from any club that can't say that they don't have someone at their club that has been there for 20+ years that is the same and are loved and respected as well.
SHOC's are looking forward to a tough year. Have lost a lot of players from the A grade down so it will be challenging. Hope that sets a few things straight. Good luck to everyone.

Bit rich coming from a Mitchell Park lad considering your supporter's/player's behaviour last time we lined up against you. Heater has the full support and respect of every player that played under him. Just worry about "The Den" champ.

Mate from the games i watched last season the bloke is a disgrace. The way he carries on and yells abuse at the the opposition coach is a disgrace. When he finally got on the field and he was trying to play tough guy, raising his elbow a few times until he got one of his own back.
Spoke to a couple of there players after one game and they both said he was a disgrace and there is nothing they can do about it.
If that is a leader you are one easily lead fool.

What a load of garbage. Heater may have lost his cool on a few isolated occasions last year stemming from his undisputed passion for the club and the D Grade in particular, however he is always quick to admit to, and apologise for, his behaviour.

If we’re going to judge people based on one or two encounters then I could quite as easily say that the Mitchell Park supporter base and the majority of their B Grade are a “Disgrace” also.

Twenty-two blokes now have a premiership medal around their neck largely thanks to Heater’s commitment to his role and his strong rapport with the players. Any suggestion otherwise would be ignorant.

what are you on about

Plenty of cheap shots and elbows thrown from your lads that day. One player, I think his name was Darryl (?), was an uncontrollable mess; throwing punches at anyone that tackled or bumped him.

Then he was sooking to the umps all game as well.
