Umpires were a bit better today compared to what I saw last week but still plenty of room for improvement

1 in particular dog act from a Hectorville player in front of the umpires that went unpunished. I don't care what happens on the field but NEVER strike an opponent with your foot under any circumstances [-X

Not too sure which game you were watching today mate... Should have been three poultney players and two hectorville players reported for striking today instead umpires were more concerned about giving out yellow cards for swearing absolutely did not protect the players today from both sides. Had one umpire come into the rooms and apologise because he didn't know you could have third man up. With all that said pultney out played hectorville and deserved the win too good on their home deck ... Perrie put on a clinic in the middle

Read what I wrote. I said I don't care what happened on the field beforehand but kicking an opposition player is a disgrace.

As for the Umpire performance they were 10 times better than last week on what I witnessed at Scotch V Golden Grove. Those two had no control over the game and seemed far too happy to disadvantage one side with numerous yellow cards whilst the other got off scot free.

i feel sorry for the players of the scotch v gg match then. To have umpires who think jnr rules apply where you cant have a 3rd man up during a ruck summed up the umpiring for the match.

Lets not forget what happened before that incident. a pultney player hitting a 19 yr old heccies player down when he wasnt looking. i have no problems with umpires sending players of for swearing but then not sending of players for hitting (and the umpires seeing it) is ridiculous

saying all this, pultney were the better side today and deserved the win.

so punching people in the head isn't a disgrace it's an acceptable part of football ??
Those umpires were no where near good. Never had control of the game yesterday yet seemed to be constantly blowing their whistles

All teams have dropped at least one game now. As i think many were predicting, it is going to be a very even comp.

Unley are the best team we have played yet. Not alot between Hectorville and Pultney for mine. Pultney more have more 'match winners' but Hounds better across the park. Scotch are good but just behind the other 3 i reckon. Could beat them on there day. Salisbury west are the real dark horse. Young side full of run. Expect them to take some scalps across the journey. A lack or dominating big men might find them out in big games.

Plympton at Plympton for us this week poses a big danger game. Cant wait for Greenacres either

Please tell me your not insinuating that it's that much worse cos the bloke is only 19?? When we played Pultney in the reggies, there coach or team managers son(16yrs old I believe) was playing. He was being roughed up by one of my boys, to which the kids father stood up and starting threatening to kill our player because his son is 'only 16'. A bit off topic but if you are old enough to play seniors, you are old enough to take the same treatment as any other player. 19.. Seriously lol

Good win by Elizabeth yesterday, the first quarter set the standard.
Well done to Justy Platten on 200 games.
Also, well done to Plympton blokes who hung around for a beer afterwards, including from the C grade, was a good effort.

And...kudos to Unley/Mercedes for playing a tribute to Adam Yauch by playing Beastie Boys songs during one of the breaks last week! Brilliant!

Have been following the forum for a while now but first time poster.

Would be interesting to find out peoples thoughts on who their teams best players are? maybe 5 players from each team?

Oh and just for the record, I would have Unleys best 5, in no particular order as:

Nathan Chettle
Luke Skoblyk (yet to play this season but is probably Unleys best when fit)
Oliver Moss
Nick Stuart
James Khabbaz

honorable mentions could go to another 4-5 players because Unley/Merc are a fairly even team but this is just my opinion. Happy for fellow jets to provide alternate opinions

In div 8 with the Blacks, we went the black armbands and pre-game beasties compilation. May he have a sleep now that Brooklyn has been found.

Not sure what you're getting at here...Henri is definitely a very good player and important to Unleys structure but then you throw a B graders name in? You're either being sarcastic and think they are both no good or are overrating a B grader.

The only talk on this site should be about the clash of 2 ex AFL players this week.

Wakelin v Sarge.

Should see a MASSIVE crowd for this battle alone.

Bugger it I might go ...Im going crap doing what im doing at the moment :D

Can't confirm, sorry. Haven't heard that rumour or speculation yet. But if I hear anything I'll reply..
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
