Wouldn't want to be a side heading into finals and the feral instinct is unleashed with them smashing blokes just for fun because when their wheels fall off they really fall off.

name 1 occasion when they have done that!!!

That's a bit rough mate. I can tell ya there are a few guys that have played with me in the past, and i have played against EP a few times, and there have never been any issues, except for the odd 1 or 2 that you would expect to get in any game.
While there are no doubt some absolute morons on the sidelines that say and do some pretty bad things, the fellas on the field are not like that at all, and i would be very suprised if EP went down that path of playing that dirty, just for fun.

They were extremely fair when we played them, no on field incidents, and there supporters were well behaved. Not convinced on the merits of your comments New Era.

Considering the make up of the side is 4/5 guys over 25 and about 8/9 under 20, the rest in between and the struggle this year being the ability to go with the bigger/stronger bodies of the opposition for 4 quarters I would doubt there is much fire power for EP to 'smash blokes' not sure what era your from NE but it definitely isn't the new one, the players have worked really hard over the past 5-10 years to extinguish any stigma of the past and the days of Eastern Park being regarded as a bunch of ferals are well and truely past.

I agreewith Alcho-pop regarding EP making a huge effort in addressing the feral stigma and behaviour that they had for a long time. In the last few years playing against them, their club as a whole have done the hard yards to stop the players belting blokes around the ground when they start to lose. There were still a few guys in the b and c grade who were throwing their weight (and fists) around last year but it is a far smaller percentage of players who are doing this then there were 5+ years ago.
They have lost a few good players from last year and going into Div 1 for the first time was always going to be a challenge. I reckon they will win a game or two this year, they have been close a few times. But in all honesty they will back in div 2 next year

Tragic injury to young Gaza player on the weekend. Serious leg injuries resulting in game being held up for an hour whilst ambos called to stabilise the young lad. Game didn't finish till around 6. Lucky apparently medical assistance on sidelines chose not to move lad. Good luck to the lad and hope recovery is good.

yeah it was a pretty horific injury. haven't seen anything that bad before. lookin at 2 years out of the game if all goes well. unfortunate for someone so young, especially since he's already had a knee recon in his career. been a great player for us this year too. hopefully the ops go well and he can get back on his feet soon.

Pat Opie :( I saw the pic of his knee tonight, ouch! - simply awful for the young lad.

Bad news for the Gaza footy club and he'll be sorely missed in the state side too.

Here's to a speedy recovery Opie :D

Broadview look like running into some decent form with a large list of quality ins, but the real surprise packet is the young German speedster Thomas Schlicker, would have to be looking at heading to a league club soon? I hear he lives in the Central District zone, so the doggies should be looking. Plenty of young talent at broadies looks the goods too

is Klemzig apart of Centrals zone?
Noticed big Brendon Parker kicked 9 in the scoobie doos, i was under the impression he wasnt going to have a kick this year, handy B grader if thats all hes going to play
Were has Marbles gone and who is Satchel

Same as the preliminary final at Uni last year
EP blokes chucking bottles onto the ground
Fortunately they sank 6 foot under before anyone hit them

News to me seeing i set the oval up on Sundays at Broadview for the kids, whoever told you that is full of hot air, there was probably less mess to clean up than the previous 2 weeks and I only picked up one broken bottle and that was in the carpark
