in the pursuit of small glories there are always sad tales..thats footy and football clubs..every club would have its own story to tell of similar stories..this one sounds pretty savage though..

What did you edit from this post? The Truth?

Yes a Junior came in for a 'C' grade Grand Final at the expense of a guy who played ALL year

You keep telling yourself what you want to believe. If posters want to find out the truth, go back over the team sheets posted on the SAAFL website and think you'll find someone is telling Porky Pies. :?

i already know he played all the games which ive said once before... i will state 1 last time because obviously your dislexic or some sort of reading disability... he was not dropped due to that JUNIOR!!!!!!!!! You do not sit in on selection or know what is said!!! Finally as i stated in an earlier post there were about 6-7 other blokes who missed out, who were just as unlucky...
End rant, end conversation... :-h

WUB12 stop giving this air-time please.

The more you comment/reply on it, the more you are going to cop back.

Shoulder arms and let it through to the keeper please, the game was almost a month ago and it should be dead and buried.

My dyslexia must be playing up cos the SAAFL website tells me there were only 3 changes to the Plympton C grade side from it's Semi Final to Grand Final team (not 6-7) and one name appeared on its team sheet after not playing any prior finals (wouldn't have been a junior would it?). Yet one name that I saw on the finals sheets sadly missed out on the GF one.

Wrong thread mate, how about you just let it go anyway, why does the PFC have to explain themselves to you?

Exactly my point. The guy probably has missed the boat in becoming a 'Premiership Player' yet the kid should have ample opportunities. Understand if it was for an 'A' grade flag where so much is at stake, but all for a C5 Premiership? Would have meant a lot to the bloke who got dropped but wouldn't have thought it mean a lot to a kid who will play a lot higher grade of footy.

far to simplistic custardarm..we are discussing a C grade..not sheep stations..and i would also suggest the junior at PFC had already played in a GF in his own age a few weeks earlier as well..once again..just saying..

Why do you give a **** mate? you're not letting this go one bit and giving this some spectacular air time. We all get your point, yes it was harsh, now **** off.

Moving on.

Re: SAAFL Div 5 & 5R (2010)

Postby The Dark Knight » Thu Oct 07, 2010 10:36 pm

Held our AGM tonight. It was all pretty smooth sailing, the club is rebuilding financially quite well and a pretty stable commitee was selected.

Then the proposal to change our guernseys was put forward and the discussion over the proposed changes lasted longer then the entire meeting did.

A few guys have put forwarded a motion to change the guernseys we play in, some liked it and some didn't. The commitee will now go to the league about it and go from there.

The reason they want to change our guernseys from the prison-bar design to more of a black- dominated design is because they feel our on-field image has to change for the better and getting away from the prison bars is a good way of doing that. The club is changing it's off-field image, we are moving forward into a new era and a new guernsey could mark that. It's also about success aswell, the club hasn't had too much success in the current jumper. The last two year has been evidence of that, to go with that our ordinary succes rate in finals over the past years. Also not to mention the 25 year drought of an A grade premiership.

As for those against it both younger and older heads all believe that we should keep the prison bars and not lose our history and respect that history i.e The old Port Pres days. Alot of the older guys are big on this one and do not want the guernsey changed at all.

The new jumper has been earmarked as a new A grade only strip, an away strip or alternate strip, or even an entire new strip for the whole club, which I very much dobut will happen.

IMO, as much as I don't want too lose that history, I think we do need to start fresh in some sort of way and a new jumper could be the way to go. We've had to rebuild and change our image over the past couple of years and things have changed and are changing for the better IMO. We're on a new path now so a guernsey change and therefore an on-field change might be the best thing for the NHFC if success is to happen. Only time will tell.

Follow the Cricket Club and go with an all white jumper and change your name to the Seagulls. Would make an entertaining night, coming up with a new club song

Just pointing out an ordinary decision made by your club and if Plympton keep putting that much effort into winning C5 Premierships, perhaps Div 5 is where the Bulldogs will stay.
