Was surprised Heccies didn't get any actual defenders named considering we easily had the best defence for the year. Howie named at CHB was quite amusing... Clearly deserved a spot on the wing.

CJ McIntyre at full back aswell? Either a pocket or flank IMO

Not many teams of the year will have every player playing in the right position. It's usually a matter of the "best 22" for the year from the 10 clubs. If you work on 10 teams x 2 players from each team, that gives you 20. The better performing clubs usually get a couple more and the lower ranked clubs a few less. You'll find that most of the players named probably played a number of positions throughout the year - because they're good players, which is why they are in the team of the year!!

Roach (plym), Fairhurst (Smit), & Greenshields (Eliz) were all unlucky IMO. You'll find that most clubs' Best & Fairest winners are in there (except Smit & Plym) which shows the selectors were around the mark.

People will always be able to mount a case for why players should be in there, but is there anyone in the team that shouldn't be in there? (despite the position they were named in) If posters start putting on here 6-7 players that didn't deserve to be in there, then the selectors probably got it wrong. Debate will always rage about who missed out of teams of the year and it has since jesus played full back

Why wouldn't that be the case?? Why would it be that hard to believe he came out to Brahma to play with some mates and for the chance of success?

Oh yes we forgot about "the almighty BL $$" they are called Brahma Bucks or Tiger Dollars at the club which most clubs would have similar to use as incentives for there A graders and for BOG awards I would have thought.

Pull your heads in Brahma boys - MP isn't throwing stones at anyone, he's simply made his point of view.

*edit* which I hope MP can back up with some fact - or perhaps he should leave well alone ;)

Some quotes you have used...

'Surely Gatto will go'
He just would have played B Grade and stayed at the same club as his brothers if this was the case'
'Well if he couldn't handle the demands surely he would have just stayed at EP and played B grade and stayed at the same club his brothers play and that he's played at for yrs. He left for the lure of the almighty BL $$ is what I'm getting at! And was a waste of money

All the above is your opinion and your fact is that Gatto said this to you during the semi final? Please...

Get back to work or your boss might not be too impressed!
