Previous 2 years would be 2016 and 2017 regardless of how many games played in 2017. It appears 2016 was 6 A grade and 6 B grade therefore the higher grade played takes over. 3 points from HFL to SAAFL for majority of A grade minus 1 point for not playing any where in 2017 brings him down to 2 points this year. Games played in 2015 are irrelevant.
It doesn't say anywhere that a 50/50 split means the higher grade takes over.
So I then read it:
8.8.3.2
A player who has played majority of matches for the Reserves (B Grade) Team but has also played a minimum of five (5) A Grade matches in the previous two seasons and is transferring between clubs in difference leagues the player will have points rating of one (1)
