Div 4 now Jimmy...
Corpses ?? Can you explain that to me ? I'm slow today...
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

Me too - massive hangover

Wesley LeGrande - 5 (or 6) time medallist went from A7R to A1 to try to help them in A1 last year - didn't get a kick

A5 (or A4) to A1 is a very big jump

I haven't seen him play yet but it is a big jump from A1 to SANFL let alone the lower grades

On the A1 board, they are talking about Vidic and Dawes coming from Norwood to Amateur League - these guys will be class in A1

Mate, having been involved at both levels I can guarantee that Jimmy would mix it with players in div 1. Was around at Kilburn for 8 years playing B grade in div1 res, i watched (never played) many A1 games and he would have been a certain starter in the A grade if he was there today. GGFC would work very hard at keeping him, i would say he has everything to be a future captain of the club and would be a massive part of the club moving higher up the divisions. He will have offers from other clubs but I would assume this would have been happening for a few years now anyway, the boy wont chase dollars, not in his nature.

Yes - I may be a goose, but remember that comment when he is not playing for Golden Grove next year.
Have no intentions of naming the clubs, but rest assured two of them are Division 1, one Division 2 and
there is another Divvy 1 looking to see how much money they have over before approaching him.

Calling me a goose from an insignificant person does not worry me. Let us wait and see in April shall we.
Do you really think he would tell anyone that he is on the march to another club for coin?????
Now - who is being the goose to really believe that one - mmmmmm, me thinks your goose is cooked

Thats why you are in Division 5 and insignificant - because you believe things that people tell you.
You will be playing against the big Division 1 clubs now mate and they will eat you for breakfast, when
it comes to signing players and how to do it.

Saw young jim bob tonight and all talk pointed towards being a burra next year. Im not denying any of your sources, yet, but i think what johno was trying to get at is that if you know the kid and his nature he would not be the type to leave the club under the promise of $$$.

For some people, the jumper and mates means alot more than any financial incentive would. My impression is jim falls in this boat.

Oh......and for the record.....
we are div 4 now......
Most greenacres people can confirm this....

Not denying all of that. The kid is a great young lad and a quality player. One of the few players who could make
the transition from Division 4 or 5 to Division 1. Highly skilled.

Have seen the kid play. But please do not try and hoodwink people that he has not been in serious discussion
with a few Division 1 Clubs. Hey I dont follow anyone in Div 4 or 5, but just letting you know not too get too far
ahead of yourself there at Golden Grove.

The kid can play - no question, but dont try to take on these big Division 1 clubs on the premise of "love of the
Jumper and love of his mates and Premierships and all that bullshit" - in the end it all comes down to coin and
what is best for the player. And he is having CONSIDERABLE pressure put on him from clubs in higher grades

I cant confirm or deny the potential discussion with other clubs. I can only go on his word. Obviously there would be considerable pressure, as is the case when we try to recruit, or any club for that matter. I dont agree with the statement 'all comes down to coin and what is best for the playey". I think coin and what is best are often two vastly different things. I think with the position our club is in we dont need to get ahead of ourselves but we can be confident and firm in all we do on and off the field considering the structures and people in place at the moment. If you want to be the best, you have to beat them and there is no reason why we shouldnt be taking it to the clubs in higher grades as they try to pinch our kids.

Candyman, no one has said that clubs wouldnt be talking to Jimmy, I would almost guarantee he would be approached. The point we are all making that you mention the money and knowing Jim we all agree that if he was to up and go that would not be his driving force and i would also be extremely surprised if we didnt do everything possible in our power to keep him.

If he is 100% sure to stay at GG why bother talking to other clubs.

Don't say to find out what he's worth. If you're not going to go, don't waste everyone's time.

if the kid is still young he could surely have a go at sanfl..he wont get a sanfl gig playing div 4..he may by playing in div 1..so there are other factors as well..not always $$ and not always club loyalty...good player tho..i like him

All I am saying is that if he is 100% committed, as soon as a club approached him he would say 'no thanks' and hang up.

If he does talk to clubs he is not 100% committed.

You seem to think that you can talk to other clubs and still be committed.
