Teams got told that we would play until the ambulance came and then the match would have to stop to allow the ambulance to get across the field. Ambulance came with about 10 minutes left of the 3rd and the game got delayed by about 15-20mins. Another ambulance was then required and we were told we would play and the game would get delayed again once the 2nd ambulance arrived. Teams got in position to play and the 2nd ambulance arrived and game got postponed for another 10 minutes. Heard the player was from north reserves as well.

The player was Kym Edwards, younger brother of Richmond player Shane. Post-poned the game for ages. So much so that I got bored and went home !! Ridiculous wait.... Not sure why he wasn't moved over to the other side of the oval where the ambulance could have arived and not affected the game. As for the result.... very disappointing once again and the sooner we learn to kick straight the quicker we'll start winning some games. All credit to Heccies though who moved the ball well and cleanly and finished when they needed to. No credit to the umpires though who were shizenhousen....

Although i was there for the Elizabeth vs Scotch game i don't have much to note... I would see Elizabeth get a roll on with a couple of quick goals, but then see that Scotch were still well infront somehow... clearly i wasn't concentrating too well on the majoirty of the game, haha. Three things i did notice;
#1- Cahill... how does he do it?
#2- Elizabeths team effort when gaining momentum forward
#3- The poor boundary ump got a little knock to the knee which put him out of action for a bit :?

I really just want to say a HUGGGGGEEEE thank you to all of the Elizabeth boys for staying behind to support the Women's game. It was amazing having your support! ... PS, sorry about having to share a changeroom with us after your game 8)

a dislocated shoulder from an unnecessary incident.

it was caused by a late hit/dumping by #24 after kym had disposed of the ball. it was nothing but a dirty cheap shot on a young undersized player. he was an absolute disgrace throwing elbows and punches time after time behind the play. unbelievable that he remained unsighted from the umpires for the entire game.

credit to the rest of the hectorville footy club who went out and played good team football in the right spirit and earned the 2 points.

Yeah he did have a great year last year, but that isn't hard when you are sandbagging in Div7R.

Surely you was concentrating and getting ready for your game and with the amount of stretching you do i`m surprised you saw any of the game :D
It was a good day/night at the club (apart from the results of 3 games) and i know the boys enjoyed watching the girls go around, hopefully some of them took notice of the women on how to get in and get the footy
All the best for the rest of the season, i`m sure you will have some good wins along the way.

Luke is settling in really well Hawkboy. Had an interrupted pre-season when he was hit by a forklift at work and had some back issues but is doing well now. Sammy Scudds is doing well and already become a good leader around the club and especially on field with the younger blokes. Shane is down to about 145 kilos now and kicked a couple on the weekend and is improving each week on a special fitness program. Corey had a great pre-season and was playing really well in our first trial before doing his knee which was terrible for the bloke. But they are all settling in well and hopefully we can start pulling our fingers out sooner rather than later !!

Shame about the after the play sling tackle that caused the shoulder dislocation and has ruined a young lads season. One of many cheap acts from some of the Hounds on the weekend. Sheppard scragged all day. Number 24 deserves a decent touch up. Blatantly swiped at Jimmy Thomas and missed. The brothers weren't much better. From a specators perspective id expect big time fireworks next time the two sides meet. There will be no love lost at all.

Better team won. We kicked poorly and generally played well below what we are capable of. Hectorville have set the bench mark from the sides we have seen. Very very beatable. We will give them what's owed come the return fixture

Geez ive never heard a team winge so much. Golden Grove winged all day, they winge that the opposition was rough, the umpires were unfair, blaming the ambulance, blaming rough players. Wake up boys its football, its physical.

Perhaps if the GG coach wasn't such an angry man, giving the boys a spray before, during and after the match they might each have more confidence to back themselves in for a win. I bet its starting to feel like last year all over again..

Doesn't feel like last year at all, no complaints here about roughness lol we lost coz we were out played and inaccurate when we had momentum , plenty to build on and a long way to go in the season before we find out the teams that are the real deal

burra how do you say the whole team was feral when everyone else from gg said besides that incident the game was played in good spirit? tbh thought the little scruff there was both teams gave it to each other, there a bit of a rivalry between the clubs think players expect it and enjoy it that why the play footy

Please re-read my quoted post. Highligted bold "some". Not all Hounds were guilty. Mainly those mentioned. Multiple occaisons. Nothing wrong with physicality. When it is directed toward the contest. Rivalry is there and a good thing. That is why i will enjoy slapping the smug look from your faces next time we meet.

Please quote where someone has blamed the ambulance or is this just a sensationalist comment?
I dont have a problem with 'rough' opposition when the physicality is directed toward the contest. Multiple occasions i saw cheap shots.
Umpires weren't unfair. Just disgustingly inconsistent. Its the ones they miss as much as anything

Were you in our huddle and hear what our coach said? Angry or emotive? Im sure you just heard noise and assumed a spray. Context sweetheart. Very different to last year. Much more depth and confidence. Alot of new players in this group. It will take time to gel. You beat us on the weekend because we played poorly. We had our problems but alot of your success saturday was from our poor play. Stats on clearances, tackles and inside 50's show that clearly.

Was there any whinging in my post ?? I mentioned the handling of the ambulance as a distraction to both sides ya w@nker !!! I also commented that Heccies played better all day !! So maybe 'next time' when you do eventually get around to playing maybe you will actually know what it's like out there... Yeah you may be just stirring shit but it's idiots like you that make the rest of the decent Hectorville lads and the club seem like complete tossers. Shame to the rest of your club who were decent blokes... Feel free to come and say hi too next time...

Yeah I gotta agree I hate that too.... I think a few clubs do it now so the money is handled in one spot. I just want a steak sanger and get the hell outta there back to the game without waiting !! ;)

Seems to be a fair bit of feeling between the Grovers and the Hounds :axe:

I can understand how Crash the pack gets his view of the Grove coach... he certainly is... lets call it "passionate" about the game. :-?

No feeling at all. The game was played in pretty good spirits over all. I take offence to words being put in my mouth because I don't come on here and talk sh1t about other teams because I respect them all and will have a beer and a chat with anyone on here without prejudice, I think you know that turk... So I'll be interested to see if that clown will want to chat next time we play.

And as for Mitch, well, yes, he is 'passionate'.... ;)

I can assure anyone reading that Modbury hold Mitch in the highest regard. His time at the club was inspiring and many people still love to see him at the club and still talk about the premierships he coached. Great coach who inspires anyway he can.
