Well what do you expect when there are three teams from that region in the Div.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.

Probably SMOSH if I had to choose. A few good mates play for them, but I also know a few lads from most of the clubs on the peninsula through friends of friends. I live in the country and was told about the forum so its a good way to catch up with things.

A few recruits have bailed early due to lack of numbers out to training. Had about 15-20 out consistently each training and the club is trying to recruit fairly hard. It will be a young team this year, about fourteen players under 21 but similarly to last year, could be a very tough time at Kilburn.

Which raises the question....did Kilburn do the right thing for the long term well-being of the club by going up to Division 2 in 2009 when they clearly weren't ever going to be good enough?

I saw their first game against Broadview last year and they were competitive. IIRC, they were only about 5 goals down at 3/4 time

Problem was that they were never going to make the finals so a few bailed when they were losing every week. I dont know how many of the bailers were being paid, but that's the mercenary game.

just a quick one, was speaking to someone friday night and they have said PAOC have recruited well and will be a huge chance to be there come september, seems to me PAOC are going under the radar a bit and remaining tight lipped about these recruits

We were competitive for a few games up to 1/2 or 3/4 time last year considering the football talent we had at the club. The main problem we had last year was our fitness and numbers and I think this will definitely be another issue this year. The players we have out to training currently are all fit but will be quite difficult to win games.

mmmmm

All sounds too negative for me - I might have to go out to training and have a look. I'll just sit down with a few of the locals and blend in so they dont notice me

I heard they are only getting minimal numbers at training, considering the 60k they have to spend.....................

I just got told there's going to be a crisis meeting in the next week to see if they can even field 2 sides!

Of course this is only grapevine - I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks when the final draw comes out.

Kilburn in C division? Who woulda thought.
