Any trial game results from over the weekend?
Only our C grade played Henley Bedge, was a combination of their C's, D's and U/18 apparently and by all reports it was not a pumping. I was told multiple margins and it was closer than I thought, apparently. The Bedge wrote:Henley pumped North Haven
Golden Grove worked Brighton into submission

The A's and B's played Seaton mate. B's pumped them, I think it was 19 goals to 1 and the A's won by around 5 goals.

Computer Crashed wrote:Really enjoyed the atmosphere at Morphy Park on the weekend, supporters were great to talk to and it was interesting to hear about their past history and look over the honour boards.
Must say though the gap between their As and Bs is extraordinary.
I couldn't envisage MP staying out of the bottom two unless there were half a dozen blokes unavailable for round one.
Don't shoot me down, just an observation.

Fair call CC, unfortunately many 19 to 23 yr olds can't be bothered playing anymore, some very good footballers,
As a club you can only do so much, many long serving volunteers left scratching there heads.
We did have about 12 unavailable both grades, but that still doesn't excuse are performance.
Golden Grove fairly polished with good running game, will be round the mark come seasons end.

Word is that GG have another 4-5 into their A Grade and another 5 into their B Grade though

As TBS said, you cant play everyone due to the point system, GG have an excellent pool of home grown talent which is very handy.
80 - 90 % of their B grade would play A grade at a lot of football clubs.
Overall talent and ability of the individual footballers is very even so there are many like for like swaps when and if injuries occur, biggest concern GG may have is have they got that game breaker that wins you games of footy come the big matches.
Big blokes are worth their weight in gold, mosquito fleet can win games of footy as well.
Time will tell if you can win the big games with the latter.
