i can name 5 who actually get paid at pooraka but name a club in div1 to div 4 who doesnt wouldnt be many if any

what i tryed to say was back in div 1 we spent lot of cash on players they left we struggled rebuilt and learnt lesson next year is a different story and you will see changes at pooraka again

just curious you pay any of them players who left para hills to come play for you and what sort of cash was sam on im sure he wouldnt play div 6 if he wasnt forced to

Div 7 GW, yeah, we're paying out heaps to put a side on the park.

Definately no need to force Sammy to play at IF. Been a part of the club since he was 10, loves playing at a club where the players socialise with each other and hang around the club longer than 15 minutes after a game.

I think people need to get back to the thread here.

In my opinion (One from a distance) and knowing a few people around the club, they will not drop to division 4. The club is an extremely proud club who have fought extremely hard to climb the mountain to division 1. I would expect them to hang around div 3 for a few years before the juniors they currently have build their bodies to start a climb back up the divisions.

Expect the demons to play finals in div 3 in 2013 as they will be a quick, talented and determined team next year.

Best of luck to Scotty Magee, Rob Duke and the demons committe in 2013.

Asking to drop an extra grade is about as humiliating as it gets. If Eastern Park have asked to do so then those involved when they got to div 1 should be ashamed. 2 teams will get relegated from every grade, taking such a big step is an admission you have no hope of holding ground in div 3 and at best avoiding relegation in div 4. Making finals in div 4 after asking to drop down would be a signal to everyone else the wrong decision was made.

Regardless though, hard to see it getting voted in. So many clubs who don't care how much EP suffer on field and so many who worry about where this might end.

I'm an Eastern Park member currently, and have been around the club pretty much since the day I was born.
I've been asking around trying to find out about this but nobody seems to know anything. People on here seem to know its official already, yet members of the club itself dont even know yet.

I can tell you right now, if the club has requested to drop to Div4, there will be alot of very, very unhappy members, and alot of annoyed people who have been around the club for years and years. To me this seems to be something that is totally against what we strive for at Eastern Park.

If we have actually put in a request to drop to 4, I will feel quite ashamed and embarrased.

Agree, and personally i cant see a single benefit of dropping down a div.

TBH if EP were to drop to div4 and make a GF they shouldnt be allowed the promotion that comes with it.

That is correct Eastern Park have withdrawn their request from the SAAFL to drop to D4.

Pressure was brought to bear and request withdrawn.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.
