We will be fielding a very young and inexperienced side due to a huge list of unavailable players. Only just managed to get a team together for Round 1. A lot of first game footy players in our team just helping out for this week until we get a few more back next week. We only won 1 or 2 games in C6 last year so am tipping we will struggle this week against a much more experienced Eastern Park.

I guess all that matters is that you avoided the forfeit, and the guys can get out there for a kick. Good luck on the weekend.

10 unavailable for the Cs as well as 3 missing from the 1s and 2 missing from the 2s. The Cs have still named 25 and i would expect them to win. 22 on the track for the C grade squad on Thursday so the signs are solid. After going 1 win-15 :( last year and i umpired the one F,N game we won when the ump no-showed  id expect the boys to match last years record by 11.58am tomorrow :D Whilst not full strength the starting 18 looks like it should have enough talent to rock the changerooms at the fortress of Falconry tomorrow morning.
Having said all that i know very little of the Dolphins C grade and the team is by no means "unstoppable" ;)

That's a shame and a concern because its round 1, there are only going to be less and less available players due to Injuries in higher grades. I know what its like to play 14 vs 21 when Glenunga had trouble fielding a B grade a few years back, while the result sucks at least I got to run around, hopefully most teams can field teams this season even if they are short.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Some good players played for salis west c grade. Luckily their B grade only played up the road and had 3 qtrs to kick a winning score, considering Glenunga led at 1/4 time.

Regardless of the score it was a really good game played in great spirits. Last weekend is the first time Glenunga has had a 'C' grade for several years and while we only started with 17, we learnt a lot about what we will be in for this season.

I know Salisbury West also had no bench to start, its just a shame as I bet there are some players out there that are missing out on games because their club has too many players. Its a shame there isn't a pool of players that teams can call up and fill their team, best of both worlds. Teams aren't playing short and people get to run around on the park on a Saturday.

Either way, this weekend it looks like we have a big challenge against EP.

I did notice Dene Steele's name on the team sheet.....would have been handy having a few of them running around.

Our game vs Wingfield was played in pretty good spirits, a couple were sent off (1 from each side), but all in all a good match. They had 22-23, but 2 went down with what appeared a couple week injuries so maybe over the next couple weeks may find themselves a little short.

We have Pultney this weekend, hoping they get a chunk of players back so we can have a game. Then we play SW, then EPFC after that. A tough couple games.

I went searching for his name amongst their grades but couldn't find it. I noticed ruckman Paul Santos was on the team sheet of Westies C grade aswell, both him and Steele played A grade last season (Steele equal first in the medal) including the Div 5 GF and have played A grade at SW in previous years.

Big out this week for EP. Star recruit YT23 is out for the season with a pulled thorax. Al Gore has promised to step up and take some of the slack after a slow start to the season.
