you watch, come round six when none of these guys have been paid, and their sick of loosing by 30 odd goals,i wonder how many clubs will accept them back when they come a running looking for a home for the rest of the season
i have made sure as a club anyone that wanted a clearance we granted on request,no matter the circumstances, but i wonder how easy it will be for them to get back to saafl mid season
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

They've upped the ante they offered $200 to one of our C graders a couple of years ago. He was over 30 though.

i know what has been said is quite amusing but to be honest this stinks
not just because it has totally derailed our season, now because of circumstances we cant feild a team this saturday, and will struggle to about round 3
this whole buying players ,and sometimes just so no one else gets them is destroying grass roots footy
i have no problem with the high division teams paying but here for instance is a club that cant win a game against anyone offering money to any one that will take it
the moral and ethical values in this game are done and dusted and before everyone jumps on about me,for one minute think how in the long run this is not only going to effect the leagues but your clubs and for that matter your little lads who wont have a club to play for
yes ovies are small and insignificant to some but we all started the same and this could be the final blow

How many can you scrape together? We can top you up. We've named 29 in the B grade and 25 in the C grade. I'm sure we can sling you enough blokes to get a game going....?

Its not just these clubs to be blamed, a large portion of the responsibility must rest with the players IMO.

Dee Man I make you pretty much right on this one but also I think at times the league needs to step in and guide a club as well. The Callington circus has been running for some years now and while I understand the people running the club may have good intentions sometimes people need to be told what's what. The other clubs in Hills Country would certainly rather have a different option than belting some mob of blokes by 30, 40 or 60 goals and there is an option for Callington to go in to the C grade comp.

That a club is simply throwing around wads on survival is a joke, is there any forethought to what happens the next year or year after that, at some stage the Hills (and for that matter the CFB) need to step in and stop the carnage as it will only snowball and take other clubs with it.

Perhaps the SAAFL should fine themselves for forgetting to provide us with umpires last week, hey EM?

I did
my brother was really happy running 8 quarters

Also Dee Man, how many players have they taken as all these players would be attracting 2 points as they are all from your A Grade
makes no difference that you are in the C Grade comp of SAAFL, you are still classed as an A Grade club and as such the players attract 2 points each

Wow. Amazing how much has happened since I flew out of Adelaide yesterday morning. How many players are gone and any from last years playing list? Looks like I might have to put the boots on every now and then instead if being a spectator.

Unfortunately money will eventually kill our game. I refuse to recruit from the hills leagues because many of their players chase the bucks. Feel for you deeman because you are passionate about getting Ovies up and about. Hope it all works out.
