Without sounding like a broken record i sincerely hope that C1-C5 are all comps without byes. Ie; No 9 team comps

wingfield were c2 this year
if one team only sides are going to be allowed they should play in c1 first so that the jump to the lowest two team grade is not such a shock.

so it'll be;
-round 1
-bye (easter)
-round 2?

I guess to fit the games in before September it'll prob have to be that way... and the way my preseason will prob end up (with little NG being expected Jan 27) i'll need a week to recover after the first game...

Yeah makes sense. I have heard the 2nd of April but that seems rather early...

Are there any Div 1 clubs who don't have a C1 side?

that's all good in theory, but our problem last year IMO could have been avoided if we were competitive. The fact that we were pummelled week put our players off let alone anyone new coming out, who wants to go to a club that gets thumped every week?

Unfortunately it can't all be cut and dried like that.

why not; you know the level now in c1 that you have to achieve - which in itself is a step below div 7 where your longer term aim is to play. surely its better to acquaint yourself in c1 and recruit accordingly rather than potentially being a cut above all sides in a lower division (as has happened several times in ovie's past when they've gone down the grades) then be caught out by the jump from the lower grade to div 7.

It also means that with three sides playing div 7, the saafl can easily replace these three side with a grade teams such as ovingham, north pines and wingfield alleviating any bye.

Thanks, I was wondering how C1 could have more than 10 sides..........now I know why those other sides can play there.

We had our first night tonight with an excellent turn out of 70+ with about 15-20 new faces. I was thinking 35+ would have been a good number given the temperature. Certainly wasn't expecting that many! Was great to see so many young blokes though, made us old timers feel that little bit older

Hopefully some exciting times ahead at Demonland

Just a heads up for the ladies... and for the guys out there who know any ladies :D

... Central District Women's Football Club will be having their "Meet the coach night" next week.

When: Tuesday 30th November
Where: Argana Park... CDWFC Home Ground (ohhh and Elizabeth FC too i suppose :-P hehe)
Time: 6:30pm

Russell Hall did an amazing job last season with a group of young ladies who were learning the game. Now Kevin Burrows will be taking the reigns (and risking his sanity, haha) with us for season 2011.

Please spread the word to any females you may know that might be interested :-bd

Ohhhh, and another reminder...
as Pag said, the boys at Salisbury FC are starting pre season next Monday night, 29th Nov. Training at the footy club (Orange Ave) for a 6:15pm start :d

Had a couple of very solid nights this week. Tuesday we were down the beach, had good numbers again and did a Jetty to Jetty time trial and tonight we were back at the club

It trial was quite tough, especially when your running on the soft sand while trying to evade half of Adelaide who decided to come down, have a look and shout things out while you run past. ;)

Tonight was another good night, there was a good vibe around the group again and the numbers were very solid again. After a strength, then speed test and a bit of running, it was good to get the footys out, put the boots back on and have a run around, it's been a while.
