Flinders Pk v Golden Grove - Flinders Pk easily
SMOSH v Pooraka - SMOSH
Mitcham v Para Hills - Mitcham
Pembroke v Seaton - After last week Seaton will be more competitive but Pembroke will take the points home
Portland v CBCOC - Last year we were 1 each. I dont see that beinig the case this year. It will be close but we WILL WIN

The same as they will be all year mate. Nothing against you guys personally. Win the last 2 C2 flags come down to C3. Pretty simple but devastating for guys like us.

Can't argue with that.....
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.

I dont think that anyone is unbeatable. Each on their given day mate. The first stoush against any new team is always hard. We are a little different as we are playing two teams we palyed against last year in the first 2 rounds. We have FP next week on our home deck so im sure we will be under the same amount of pressure.

I think the results on the weekend show where our clubs are at. Flinders have a very very strong C-Grade with a good 6-8 players easily being able to play up. Where as our Cs is the weakest it has been since the mid 2000s.

What was it about them mate?

Our guys had a great game yesterday. It was a good game right through. CBC palyed the usual run and hang outside a pack and wait for an easy give. We caught onto the 6 player movemnet to congest our forwards and then produce run from their. Which was what CBC did in allgrades actually. Actually they did pretty much the same all day with predicable go to the talls at every kick in and stopage. We are in a good spot at the moment with coming together early instead of late like last year. For the first time in a while the club is really starting to work and increase on our depth.

Flinders Park C3 had Sudjai Cook running around in their side. They will smash everyone in this comp, and it's not their fault that they are stuck in this Division, but the SAAFL need to have a good hard look at putting too strong a side in certain divisions. Flinders Park in C3 is a perfect example.

Devastating weekend for us. After a good win against CBC we had no idea what we were up against in a new team to the division. There had been words about what FP had in their side with A grade players hating their senior coach so they play C grade instead? Blooding decent country players in their C grade side. Is this to avoid points? Doesnt matter now.

I find that this side in FP C grade should not be in this division. They are far too a greater side than C3. They had a lot of players that would hang out the back and sit back which our guys couldnt counter that. Cook wasnt as damaging as i thought he would be. He doesnt need to be really when you have 15-16 out of your starting 18 that do the job. He did sit out of the packs and sit a kick behind play most of the game except when he went in the middle. Even then he sat back. I guess we worried too much about him and not the other 22 players they had. That was a bad call on my behalf. In saying that these guys (our mob) need to step up and have a look at what we are trying to achieve week in week out. You cant expect to front up against sides that have a rep of thumping other sides and think they are going to have a shocker that week your playing them. We are better than that and we are a far greater side than last year. We didnt win a game until the bye against Kilburn ;) . Then until the last 3 rounds we won 3 from 3. We will be better next round.

Take nothing away from FP they are going to win the C3 flag like they have won the C2 flags. Take them lightly if you want to get smacked and good luck if you think these guys will loose a game.

Don't get me wrong satchel but we only follow our A and B grade sides. The talk about blokes not playing A grade because they don't like the coach is rubbish. That is our genuine C grade side. If you look at our side over the last 3 weeks we have had a number of players going up to the B grade. At our club you play where you are picked. We have had a great couple of years in the C grade but not that long ago we were struggling to fill a C grade side and were getting thumped as well. Over a number of years we have integrated our club in regards to cricket and football and this has helped no end.A fair percentage of our C and D grade sides play cricket and footy together and when you get a good feeling around the club people want to be there. They bring out mates and so on. We have a great off field social side and that is a huge reason for our strenght through the lower grades. A good example is cooky, he played cricet with us and hence decided to kick around with us in the C grade. He is mid 30's now so he can commit to playing higher and work stops him from training. In saying that your guys were great fella's and we are so glad you didn't play that little blonde fella after half time. Very strange little man, he threatened the umpires at half time. I wish you best of luck for the rest of the year and keep working with them and you will get some reward.

however, it is a direct result of many clubs wanting to play triple headers with their c grades and the saafl trying to align sides for this to happen. this will continue to happen with this system and either has to be accepted or c divisions work on promotion/relegation.

that said i still struggle to see why the blacks 5th side were promoted by the saafl from c2 to c1 after their c/d grades were already making the step from div 7 to div 6 and flinders weren't; let alone the saafl not offering flinders the opportunity to fill the hole in div 7 and 7 reserves.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

I didnt mean anything untoward mate. I just heard that directly from 3 different FP players about them and their thoughts. Its great to see youu have the depth. I just write what i see and hopefully no one takes it wrong. You guys will not loose a game this year (unless you play with 10 blokes on the field) and take the flag

Golden Grove vs Seaton Will be closer than some think Seaton by 2-3 goals. Good reports on GG
Mitcham vs SMOSH Smosh by 7-8 goals
Portland vs Para Hills Portland by 4 goals will be a good game. both sides need this one
CBCOC vs Flinders Park Dont think i need to write anything other than hang in there CBC. FP 100 points plus
Pembroke vs Pooraka Pembroke far too strong. Even with Pooraka's new recruit ;)

Wha's with the eyes FRED?

Big shout out to the team manager for Para Hills on Saturday. Great, friendly approachable bloke. Was willing to to help me on a couple of things and was patient with some of the formalities of the game. Credit more so to my lads who started from the game well but finished off brilliantly. There were scuffles but they got sorted quickly.
We havent beaten PH since we got in the division back in 2001 (be gladly corrected if im wrong). Our guys were first to the ball all day and were tough over the body. PH strung some late goals in the second just before the break which did send a rocket up my lads during the break. In teh end we didnt paly a full 4 quarters (we were 2 minuets away due to a lapse in focus). Great win and looking forward to our first game of the season away against GG. Will need to hit you up for a beer Kookaburra and put a face to the name.
