yup, Roey to Gepps Cross, Hargreaves is a maybe at the moment- if I was a betting man though, I'd be putting money on Hargy being there in 2008.

I understand Roey has been appointed. Could be an ex-Hawk heading to the Rams too and some, yet to be named, quality players from other Div 1 clubs, although every other club says the same stuff at this time of year. Look out for some more home-grown kids debuting for Gepps next year as I understand many of this year's premiership Under 16's have signed, pending SANFL commitments, and there's some real talent among that lot, believe me!

Gepps dont hold a gun to these guys heads to come and then stay at Gepps. We have lost plenty of players to other clubs as well. Might have something to do with playing A1.
As I understand it most if not all of the HV guys have come from SANFL clubs and looking to play the highest standard they can.I am sure Charlie (great guy and excellent coach)will be onto them and if they want to go back to Div 6 good luck to them.

Well said BM.
At last the Rams are beginning to realise that the future of the club rests with the juniors.
Despite the suggestion that Gepps don't develop players, many of this year's A's and B's played juniors at Gepps.
6 or 7 'kids' who played in the Under 17's premiership team a couple of years ago have been regular seniors for the last 2 seasons.
This year's Under 16's are probably well ahead of those former Under 17's who, as Under 16's, won just 3 games. This year's team won 16 out of 17.
I hope that eventually 75% of the A grade will be ex juniors.
Obviously all junior clubs would like the kids to play at the highest level possible, be it AFL or C grade Amateur League.
It's our duty as a club to direct as many of the kids to SANFL special squads as possible as that's the stepping stone to an AFL/SANFL career.
It will be interesting to see whether there will be any burn-out factor as, since the introduction of Under 6's, a kid can play his 100th game in under 10's or 11's. They could then have to play another 90 to 100 games before they're old enough for seniors.

Steve Hill has been re-appointed at Morphett Vale and with a few welcome inclusions from overseas and returns from knee injuries, going for 5 in a row, should be pretty hard to toss in 08.

Sounds like Hill landed a dream job at M/Vale after Potts left Mexican. That team would be a pleasure to coach.

Any news on what Potts is doing now? He must be pretty disappointed that Jack is going to Panther Park...

His first priority will be to win this weeks ressies GF. After that not too sure, i do know that he applied for the Westies league job, but failed to reach the interview stage...
