Anyone know why the rd 10 games coming up are the return fixtures from rd 2, followed by the games of rd 1 the week after?

Amateur League probably didn't realise until all clubs got their fixture.
A little too late after that.
Doesn't surprise me at all!

Early on it looked like it could be any of a number of teams (Seaton, Scotch, Athelstone, PNU)

Now after a couple of teams have dropped off it looks like it might be a two-horse race between Scotch and Seaton...

From the games I've seen and what I've heard I'd day Seaton and scotch look the strongest and deservedly sit 1-2. Athelstone and Pnu still could provide a stern test but don't look like really pushing top 2, Unley is a real dark horse and can mix it with the best when on song so don't write them off, old Iggies a bit up and down and will have to play more consistenly just to make finals. Difficult to judge, the tipping in this div is anyone's bet! Salisbury Mitcham and even eastern park have beaten teams above them!

Have to agree with most of this, esp. Seaton, they seemed to be an even, well-drilled and hard at it team. I reckon PNU, Old Iggies, Athelstone and UMJ inconsistency can be put down to their young playing lists. Maybe Salisbury have dropped off the pace a bit and the Pembroke big men are impressive and I reckon they could do better in the second half of the year despite their disappointing loss on the weekend. Yep, ladder says it for me, Scotch and Seaton the likely ones.

Knowing quite a few of the PNU boys and how good some of the players are, I reckon that teams would be pretty fearful of meeting this side come finals time. Jolly and Roberts would be the best 2 forwards in amateur league, and Brimacombe would be a gun at div 1 level also. Throw in all the other experienced boys, plus a few of their speedy youngsters, they would have to be the best team in the comp when at full strength.
It would be a massive surprise to me if they didn't make it to the GF at least (although their results don't indicate that to anyone else at the moment).

As a team they seem like they're a step ahead of the comp after seeing everyone once.
Although Scotch have the most talented 21 IMO. not will thorpe though.

I have played 2 seasons with Jolly, plus many seasons of div 1 football, and he is the first guy I would pick to build my forward line around. Easily the the strongest guy going around, and takes the best contested mark I have seen. Must admit I haven't seen a lot of Roberts, but have seen a little bit, and the bloke can really play. Would definitely be up there with the best forwards in div 1 (when not injured..)

Agreed Cohiba 8)

The three things I know about footy are...
1. Never get too far ahead of yourself
2. Very few people remember who won Round 9
3. And it aint over till it's over.... ;)

Ive heard PNU have quite a lengthy injury list (like most other sides probably) with Roberts, Rogers, Lowe and last years div 3 medallist runner-up Reed out for the majority of the season? Sounds like their young depth is being tested and an Unley mate said they beat Payneham convincingly?

Also on a different topic can someone who was at the game comment on the eastern park / old Iggs clash on the weekend? Pretty poor loss from Iggs with the much heralded White going goalless!?!? Wtf

Greg Anderson to pull on the boots? Wow I knew they were struggling but the boys at Iggies can't rely on blokes of that age. Surely there is some young blood coming through who would benefit such as S. Daw, Monaghan or Thornton

Perhaps ando and macca are having a reunion game -a celebration of good times passed. Would expect Ando has more faith in his troops than to pull on the boots.

Myself (Andrew Catford) is in doubt for Saturday's match for Old Scotch after being violently ill all week. Fingers crossed I pull up alright by Saturday and relief the boys of their stress!

Do we know anymore about where everyone is at after the break?

Pnu still must still be in the hunt with a few out,
does unley's ruckman stay with them for the whole year?
seaton can they keep it up?
Iggies will be solid when they finally settle and add a very good ex league player.
Eastern park very young and need time,
scotch very good at home will they continue their good form?
Mitcham not the team they once were but could be dangerous and shape the 5
pembroke a very underrated team full of 6ft3 blokes
Athelstone up and down need consistency
Salisbury won their 1st 3 from memory what has happened out there

Any thoughts?

Seaton continue to get the job done. Will be an interesting match when Scotch go down there in a few weeks. Scotch pumped them at home by 11-12 goals (their only loss for the year) so will be good to see if that was just a bad game or not.

Same goes for scotch. Have now won 7 in a row? won on the weekend without P.Cahill and Lachy Giles. Strong all over the ground.

I think Unley, PNU and athelstone are still dangerous all dependent on player availability. My mail is that unley will lose Wark AND Clarke for the finals (if they make it). PNU have good players out so need them all back to be a threat. Whilst if Athelstone can get back to the form of the early rounds they have the firepower to go all the way.

You can probably forget the rest in terms of premiership threats, however all can (and have) beat teams above them when on song.

A3 is a great comp, plenty of talent on show - A credit to all clubs - tough, competitive, entertaining footy every week.

Scotch always strong at home...but I have to say you are always in the game with Scotch.
Mitcham will suprise a few clubs and possibly shape the 5, should be too good for Iggies at Mitcham
PNU will come Home strong - huge game at Payneham against Seaton ....worth a look
Pembroke at Home with the Tall Timber, will definitely be a huge challenge for the Jets
Salisbury need the win against their old rivals...never know this could be an upset.

Very interesting Round, always a few upsets this time of year.

3 things remain in Scotchies way of success:

the Man of Steele
the inflated egos of its playing group
the irrepressible Herdie is still interfering and making life at the Picket Fence miserable

Clearly I don't know every single Scotch player but worked closely with a few earlier in the year and they were all top blokes. No egos evident.

Most clubs would kill to have their own Heardy.

Will James Weir (Iggies) Return again this year??? Could slot Iggies in as a premiership favourites if he does!
