(He was actually supposed to be the captain of the B grade and played 3 B grade games) One of the most nuggety players I've ever seen. He did play for Norwood u17's but as far as he's told me, never took it any further.

was one of those players caught up in the talent squeeze at norwood juniors in the mid 80's. neil balme had some sort of nonsense notion that players had to play 17's then 19's and reserves before being slowly blooded. this put many players off at the time.
zanker was hard and skilful - having watched some div 6 games last year, and if he's as fit as ever - he'll fit into most div 6 sides easily as his nous and natural ability would enable him to find the ball.

Yeah but is he? (I'll give you a clue, the answer is NO, well he IS 40!)But Zanks being Zanks just plays through it cos he's a hard nut. I think he will enjoy running around without the extra pressure, and he's obviously still got a few mates at Heccies as long as he's happy.. good on him! Hope you've got a good rub down person though

At heccies their 2 trainers, if u get the right 1 she gives a tough rub down, seen her rub down a few ppl corkies before, isnt a pretty site if it you, but watching it is good fun

Looking forward to training at Hope Valley thursday night. It's nice and lush and green and unlike St Pauls, relatively FLAT!! It will be good for all the new recruits to check out their new surroundings...

5 or 6 new recruits have already been mentioned on this thread, or div 5, or hills country...?
There might be a few more names but nothing is ever final until they start running around in your guernsey come round 1.

And i do count Basso as a "new recruit" by definition - whatever grade he'll be playing...
