seasons over mate! Give the upsets a rest for the year :p

It's not over just yet mate, theres always a chance for an upset. ;)

Not when you make at least 6 changes from a winning side!!

It's happened all year. Haven't had the same side for 2 weeks in a row all season.

boozehound wrote:Unknown source you should really avoid talking publicly. Your posts say a great deal about the sort of footy brain you have....."wasting" your best player on the wing....? Is wing not an important position....Peter Matera was a wingman, Michael Long was a wingman,

FYI here are the recent All-Australian Wingmen:
2007 Chad & Kane Cornes
2006 The Goodies: Goodwin and Goodes
2005 Hayes and Del Santo
2004 Judd and Lappin
2003 Hayes and Paul Williams

What a waste hey....

You want to have a sook about injuries but when Duncs mentions the umps you jump on him and say "play div 5 get div 5 umps" Well play div 5 and generally you get some blokes who are a little injury prone

Enough said

I agree with the point you are trying to make however your examples do not support it.
The players listed were midfielders and with the nature of all australian selection midfielders spill over into the wing positions. I can't remember too many of the players listed sitting out on wing waiting to receive the ball.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Yeah poor fella, I was right next to him when it happened and at the time it did not look (or sound) good.
After the game he seemed upbeat about it so hopefully its nothing to serious :D

very interesting decision by central umpire today, our h/f/flanker had ball taken off him for time wasting while lining up for goal, and given to the opponent standing the mark.umpire told me after match when i queried it that he doesnt have to tell him where the mark is and that he should have reported him!!!! for f##ks sake what is this game coming to? about umpires egos or footballers allowed to play footy. by the way i or opposition coach didnt know the rule. have we lost touch :?

i was standing the mark and i couldnt believe that he wouldnt tell him where the mark. the HV did get warned about timewasting but still at most it should be play on. HV player got yellow carded as well once the free was given for abuse. same ump sent off a heccies player when he gave away a free and then asked didnt you see the first 3 elbows.

I also witnessed some of the most blatant cheating ever at an under 8's match. Bloke was disgraceful and should go have a long look in the mirror.

As for the limping, just putting on an act to get some sympothy from the missus. Will milk it for a week and then make the remarkable recovery. Would only expect to miss 1 - 2 weeks.

TT, whihc of your umps did you have this convo with? we had one of them in round 1 and i had a similar conversation about them not having to advise where the mark is .... what's that about.

again yesteday some very average decisions. just on 1/4 time an elbow to the side of the head after the kick, no free. second quarter a heavy tackle as the player kicks, free down ground and goal. last quarter there's an average bit of conduct after a free kick was given and i'm told it was not seen. not willing to make hard decisions unfortunately.

well done to smithfield, finished better than us and made us pay from some turnovers in the second half. both games played in great spirit.
