Just wondering LTTF why you picked EPFC's top 5 players in the "your clubs top 5" thread.....
I thought it was quite interesting you know.

Would Athlestone take out 3 out of 4 flags this year, There C grade seem unbeatable pumping everyone, B grade sitting top and A grade very close.
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

The bets on EPFC downing S/West this week would have nose dived with 4 maybe 5 key players in doubt for this weekend.
Captain Nathan Scott's year is over with a broken collarbone, Ashby - blown up knee, Solly - groin, Matty Paul - neck, Chamings - AC and a couple of others we have to wait on.
Bad timing with these injuries as we need to be at full strength to come close to S/West who look like they have hit form at the right time.
Tuff gig this week but we have to get the 2 points........at all costs.

Cant see Salisbury West having much of an impact in the finals. They will be lucky to get past the first week. What will be more interesting is whether they can handle playing in the big games or whether they will lose the plot like they have a couple of times this year (and as the did against PNU in 05). The only reason they didnt lose the plot in last season's final series was because they were winning.

I'm not sure about Athelstone either. They are pretty hot and cold, certainly not as disciplined as Walkerville or SMOSH but can beat anyone on their day.

G'day Orts

hard to pick who can win it at this time.
i do agree with ya on Athelstone.
Walkerville are in a form slump and SMOSH seem to be just doing enough but not playing at their peak.
If all the top 3 sides play like they are at the moment come finals time, anyone in the top 5 are a chance but i think they will lift and the quality of the finals will be good.
My tip is Walkerville V Athelstone but you just never know.

does anyone no why the 2 leading goal kickers for athelstone in c grade have not gone up to B grade. Some woodford guy has kicked 70 goals and a bloke called piro has kicked plenty as well. Is there a gap in the club or the b grade forwards are just as good.

from what i have heard Woodford is good mates with the C Grade coach & is just happy playing footy with his mates. Piro has played a couple of b grade games but is another one who wants to play with his mates.

Dont underestimate the D grade aswell. they will come close this year.

My vote is still on a SMOSH VS ATHELSTONE GF in 2007

Sal/west will do alright come finals - Especially if all 21 players are throwing punches. When they are losing they are fighters & when they are winning they are fighters. They are idiots.

Does anyone think smosh have a chance of losing this week cause they will pump PAOC next week & then finish top.

Disappointing about E/Park & there injuries but now i have heard that they are finished for the year.

This is how the ladder will finish up at the end of the year - Anyone disagree

My tip is also Athelstone v Walkies GF.( which would be good for us.. we wont have to travel so far to play next year!!)
Never underestimate Salisbury West though, they relish this time of year and have the ability to step up a level come finals time. The only thing that has ever let them down in finals (or any other time for that matter) is their lack of discipline. (diplomatic reply)
Don't play games with a girl who can play 'em better...

Firstly can I just say a big Thankyou on behalf of the Athelstone Football Club to Flinders Park for knocking of SMOSH on Saturday to give the Raggies Top Spot.

All Athelstone have to do now is beat Old Iggies at home which should be a tough game to win.

Don’t get me wrong Burglar I was hoping you would beat S/W on Saturday so you guys can play finals this year & you have proved me wrong…. It must have been a great game to beat S/W – Any Reports, Any Hero’s to tell Any Idiots. Do tell Burglar.
You guys have Walkerville this week & is a must win game to play finals – You have the lowest percentage out of the 3 sides on 18points. Raggies are playing Iggies & S/W has flinders Park at Salisbury downs. Good luck Eastern Park this week I hope you make the Top 5

Here is a story for you guys & I would like to know what CBCOC think of it.
They were Warriors in the first qtr & then Fairy’s in the last 3 qtrs. Did anyone
See the game, It was like playing S/W in the first qtr. They were hard , aggressive & wasn’t shy in throwing a punch. But after qtr time they went back to there DIV4 standard & was steam rolled by a better side.

Wasn’t my Top 5 prediction last week a shamble……

Speaking with a few Eastern Park lads they were very happy with there win, S/W went off the boyle late in the game and apparently the rumours are quite true and the flash is having problems controlling his players due to his off-field indisgretion.

well saturday's game was a hard bruising game.
we kicked 7.? to 2.? in the first and by half time we were 7.? to 8.? down.....we didnt score.
start of the second half was the same as the first and i think we were up by 4 which didnt seem enough because 15 out of the 17 goals kicked came from the main road end. it was pretty much goal for goal in the last and we held them off well. The win was a little sweeter with the injuries we had going into the game.
There was not really any problems with hits behind play or anything like that, just hard footy...............plus the SAAFL was there watching (very noticable) and there must have been 10 people taping the game.
Their crowd was ok but did give the umpires a pretty hefty serve at half time and at full time.
J Creek who came back through the B's last week against Athelstone after a 10 game suspension, was yellow carded twice on saturday in the B's............ both yellows elbowing to the face, you could say he is up the Creek without a club know....he will go a row i assume.
Walkerville 1 win from last 6, could be a chance this week.

Goodluck to you guys i will be cheering for E/Park this week against Wlakerville - Top bunch of blokes out their. Especially #12 for E/P
Its perthectic that footy has come down to video taping games & having umpire officials out there watching the game, But at the end of the day for the safety of the players maybe its a good idea.
Does anyone know what happen to smosh on saturday - Do they have injuries or were they beaten by a better side on the day. Also how how about Walkerville can anyone share some light on that one.

yes burglar well said again :D
and a couple of their a grade players got sent off too. One went off then the umpire red carded the replacement straight away for abusive language....he didnt set foot on the ground.
This weeks game should be interesting we may have lost another a grader to injury. He was sore saturday night/sunday morning and doesnt know if he will make it through.
But i guess you will find out who he is tomorrow at training.

02:15 PM Salisbury West v Flinders Park Proposed Salisbury Downs Oval, 63

What an exciting week in footy it is this week. (Quote Eddie Mcguire)

- St Peters & CBCOC are fighting to stay out of Relegation to Div 4 Next year.
- Athelstone need to beat Iggies to hold top spot
- Smosh must beat PAOC & rely on Athelstone to lose to Iggies to regain top spot.
- Eastern park must beat Walkerville to play finals this year. (Also relying on Athelstone to beat Iggies)
- Salisbury West must beat inform side Flinders Park to guarantee themselves a spot in the top 5 this year.

My Prediction this week –

St peters will win after the belting CBCOC was given last week.
Athelstone should win this one at home.
Smosh will win comfortably against PAOC & will play of against Walkerville in the first week of finals.
I cant see Eastern park beating Walkerville at home but I wish them luck. Go in hard cause Walkerville don’t like the hard ball.
I hope Flinders park get over S/W this week but I think S/W will be to tough for a soft but running flinders park team.

Athelstone

Walkerville
Salisbury West
