I think its more to do with these days less players are willing to do the hard yards than in previious years, maybe cop a belting and clubs like these (smaller in size compared to others)struggle to keep the players who are serious about their footy as they move on to 'greener' pastures and then the blokes 50/50 about their footy will stop playing.

Also the cultural demographic of the area plays apart. Im not sure about Mitchell Park, Ovingham etc but Kilburn has a high number of immigrants who arent really interested in footy, makes it tough to have a junior set ups required these days.

Modbury this year will be fielding 5 senior sides, U18s, 3 womens sides and 20+ junior sides.

So in a nutshell, people are giant soft cocks these days!

You're right about demographic, in Kilburn in particular a lot of sudanese and afghans.. they play their soccer on their own but dont seem to want to get into aussie rules

Your words PG not mine  in away yes, the recent generations are after instant gratification, loyalty is almost dead and the $ rules all. Not just in footy but work and life as well.

I note PACOC are fielding a 5th side this year too (in addition to PNU, Old Iggies and TTG fielding 4th sides).

It seems likely the Amateur League will have a similar number of players playing each week, just less clubs. Seems as if players are naturally being drawn to the better run clubs.

I though Ovingham had enough for a side, its just they lost their home ground to a soccer club.

Mixture of both I believe and with a large number of their players in the defence force, numbers/availability varied week to week

Yes.

I count that we have more than enough for one side at this stage. However, in a catch 22, if we do drop to one side I suspect we wont have enough for one side. If you follow me.
