Not sure if the council has started it
Thought I read something in the local rag saying the budget is approved and expected to be completed in 2012

Well and truly under way, be ready for use mid-season, it's an absolute picture, one of the best multi-purpose sporting hubs I've seen, I'm jealous as.

Where is the oval situated in the area? Is it on Fradd Road?

I just checked an aerial shot on nearmaps and the grass is green as, taken on 12/01/2012. I think the carparking will be the hold up, the amenities look set, you can watch footy on one side and soccer on the other.

Haha, that'll be the day.

Prety much heard it from the horses mouth and players they have been calling, but i suppose you would know better than them Morell wouldn't you. You could probably advise them on how many nights a week they should train at this level too.... =))
Daniel is pretty much my brother in law and I see him every other week. ;)

I am having dinner with him tonight actually and will grill him and provide an update. He did say he was interested last time I spoke footy with him, but that was more as an assistant I think.

I reckon Dan's opinions on training are pretty similar to mine, hence my "that'll be the day" comment.

UPDATE

old farmer, might need to check your sources. Noske brothers are not coaching TTG, rather Pete Martin is taking the helm.

So I guess I did know better than them eh?

How are you travelling? I will admit to not knowing much about Flinders Park as a footy club.

Are you the thuggish upstart types, snobby bratty old scholars or somewhere in between...

They had Sudjai Cook running around in their C grade and they dominated C3.......will make top 5 in Div 7. Also their D grade were very handy only dropping 1 game and winning the C6 flag.

Pretty difficult with so many C Grade teams and new teams. Smithfield a completely unknown quantity.

SHOC obvious favourites, even if they have lost a few players winning the GF by 10 goals in 2011 is impossible to ignore. Angle Vale still strong, with some classy additions will be a GF challenger. Henley are a great footy club and always field strong C Grade sides at this level, massive threat.

North Pines thereabouts, do not buy the exodus rumours. Their footy late in the year was as good as anyone still in this division. Mitchell Park funnily enough is one I am not sure about. I think we can improve but need key players to stay healthy when it matters. Another couple of A grade midfielders would be nice.

Smithfield. Unknown. As I said earlier they were in Div 5 last time they played. Flinders Park, Tea Tree Gully and Modbury will all be competitive on their day but like may C Grade side might struggle if their A and B grade get injuries. TTG to be close to the 5. Hope to see Modbury have a bit more success in their C grade than last year. Fliners Uni I think will improve this year with 4-5 wins but I cant see them getting out the bottom two just yet. Good bunch of blokes and wont need much improvement to begin the climb upwards.

Love you Morell, the reason you don't know about MP is you won't come to training. The LIONS are ready to ask the questions of you. Don't be a stranger and get off the bike and start runnin. 5 key players, all healthy at 20-25, plus 3 midfielders of high quality. You down play us naturally but please don't, we are doin OK. SHOCs here we come if you think they are under $2.00. We did beat them both times in the minor round in 2011. Then enter their depth in the finals. We now have the run. Don't care if the world knows cos this div will be a belter in 2012.Luv your passion for the forums but forums don'twin too many flags.

Angle Vale is at least 10 minutes closer than Willaston, unless you live in Burra.

What happened with Jubba?

Not sure who Oaksey is so I would say he is not at the Pines. Due to family commitments Jubba does not have the time to coach but is still playing at the club. Would have liked to have him as the B grade coach though.

So Derek Newchurch not coaching is he still gonna play there

Thats great to hear Yank Man but it’s easy to be positive and up and about at this time of the year. No doubt a lot of the other clubs would be able to say very similar things. Speaking to Dan last night he said TTG are looking to be a much better side this year and have a lot of solid recruits, numbers are also good. What right or evidence do we (or anyone) have that makes our training/recruits/attitude better than anyone elses? How can we in any way say we have caught and overtaken SHOC and Angle Vale? Perhaps they have also trained very well and picked up key players, all healthy at 20-25, plus 3 midfielders of high quality?

The only truly measurable indicator we can use is late 2011 form, whereby Mitchell Park were not good enough, for a myriad of reasons. New recruits and numbers on the track are intangible and don’t change that fact.

Forums don’t win flags but either does pumping up our chest in February. I have been at Mitchell Park for long enough to know that anything kind of pre conceived notion of how we are going to go at this time of the year is complete folly.

But it’s fun to dream nonetheless! :D
