Would be interesting to see how the amateur league fills that last spot in D7.....this is all assuming of course that smithies go under (hasnt been confirmed yet)

Anybody know how this would affect divvy 7?

Aren't North Pines & Wingfield filling 2 sides this year?

Would find it highly unlikely that either of these teams would get the numbers for two teams. From what I have seen from watching some training sessions Ovingham would be the most likely team to get the required numbers to fill two teams and come back into div 7

Smithfield will pull together 2 teams, im sure of it. Their B grade will be a bit of a motley crew, but they will still scrap together a side every week.

I’m bored so here’s a rough pre season guide on how teams are travelling and potential ladder finishes based on the info written on here as of now and word around the traps…I reserve the right to amend this prior to round 1 :)

Ingle Farm – Word on the street is the club has been a basket case in the off season however with David Payne in charge they’re gonna be around the mark. With a lot of running during their pre season and not using much balls I think they’ve conceded they may not have the talent but they will run you off your feet, they will be fit…Prediction 3rd – 5th

Mitchell Park – Massive loss of Ben Weekley in the off season is going to hurt however momentum is growing down at the den and numbers are looking good with quite a few more new faces. Been training since October, is this good or bad? Guess we’ll find out in August…Prediction 4th – 5th

SHOC – Will have a very similar squad to last year and being a young one at that you can only assume they’re gonna be better than last year. If they can keep that core group together rather than having them pushing up the grades to the div 1 teams they will be a red hot favourite. Carroll up front always a danger….Prediction 2nd

Glenunga – Has there been more talk about a team in div 7 than these blokes ever? Rightly so too when you seen what they’ve picked up and who is at the helm. Best squad in div 7 what they do with it remains to be seen. Complacency is what will stop this mob from dominating. Super fit, super skilled probably won’t lose a game this year….Prediction 1st

Tea Tree Gully – Bit of an unknown. Div 1 team have lost a few blokes to other clubs which may result in players moving up the ranks however the core group in div 7 is quite an experienced bunch lead by Pete Uncle and should not change much. Expect a slow start and them to gain momentum when the rain kicks in. Should finish in a similar position to last year or maybe even slip out the 5…..Prediction 5th – 6th

Mawson Lakes – Another unknown who have been keeping very quiet over the silly season minding their own business. We know they’ve picked up some oldies from Resthaven but will they replace what they’ve lost? Good numbers on the track but what’s the quality like? Showed signs last year of domination but then once again fell in a heap, will they learn from this or is their confidence shattered? So many questions about this mob unanswered but I think should play finals….Prediction 4th - 5th

Athelstone – No more Dave ‘Herbie’ Harris at the helm means no more experienced players like Clay Whenan, Brad Warner and perhaps even Mal Grossmann playing. This mob on their day can challenge anybody in the comp but with up to nearly 10 changes a week never have a stable side on the park. They’ll be a slider this year unless Dave’s mates decide to stay in the C grade…Prediction 6th – 8th

Angle Vale – Rumours are there’s a bit of money floating down their way this year. I still don’t think this will help them. Lacked some serious depth last year and with Burgess reportedly at Two Wells would need about 7 – 10 serious players to be a threat. Maybe they may pinch a few from Smithfield but at the moment they have great kids but they're still a few years off….Prediction 7th – 9th

Modbury – Similar to TTG they’re div 2 side has lost a few players and may call upon the youth in this side to fill the gaps. They have some real good kids and are always very fit could be the real improvers in the comp if they keep the kids but will still fall short of finals action imo….Prediction 6th – 8th

Flinders University – Another year with Ross Brokensha at the helm, will this do more harm than good to a club already in struggletown. They were deadest ordinary last year and would want to improve dramatically if they want to at least win again this year. They haven’t said a word in the off season so perhaps no news is good news? Until then I have no reason to sya they won’t win the wooden spoon again….Prediction 10th

Personally I think the C grade clubs might struggle this year to keep up with Glenunga, Ingle Farm and Mawson Lakes who I would put in the top 3. The last two spots in the finals I see going to 2 of SHOC, Athelstone, Angle Vale and hopefully, maybe a sneaky Mitchell Park....

Just nominations, I think they have until Friday 11th to withdraw without copping a fine.

My money would be on them only going in with the 1 team this year.

Nth Pines have also but from some reports I am hearing they may struggle to get the B grade up and running.
