We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

A guy called wayne Wyld coaches the B's. Would be a massive job for Golding wouldn't it?? Not many Div 2 playing coaches going around -especially rookies!!

Modbury Played Mt Lofty Saturday night in a trial !!!

The Hawks got up very well in the B Grade which is a good sign for depth and in the A Grade the Hawks got up by a goal !!!
It is what it is !!!

Well known last year that Golding was being chased by a number of Div 1 clubs, and he was extremely close to signing with one of them but wanted to stay at Edwardstown due to Mitton being a good mate and help the towns back into Div 1. Now, i wonder whether Golding was staying to maybe take over the coaching in the future, if so no worries, or would he now be regretting the decision to stay. How were they travelling this year, any quality recruits???

Young SMOSH side played a near full strength Districts/Ramblers side last night in a 6 quarter trial game.

Good hit out for both sides. Districts were missing a couple of stars, but gee their forward set-ups impressive. So many targets to hit.

In other SMOSh news, Ian Ralston has been sacked as skipper for looking too much like Alf.

(Ralo has actually stepped down due to increased working commitments. Good to see people doing the right thing by the club).

What is the latest news out at Uni? The talk was a heap of experienced / quality players were going to return for 2008 to make sure they got re-notched in Div 1 for next year... Is this the case? Have heard they have had a heap out to training but am more interested in the quality as opposed to the quantity... Anyone have any mail?

My old friend involved there reckons their target was to recruit 8-10 A grade players and retain the majority of the better players from last year and all he does now is laugh and say they are well ahead of their original plan which leads me to believe they will make amends for last years failure. I popped out there a couple of weeks ago and they had 50-60 on Main Uni Oval and that was AFTER they split the senior squads and sent the others over to Park 10 with the lower graded teams where another 50-60 were training. Sound's a lot but don't forget they have 8 sides to fill
Jayne I guess we'll all have a better idea after the next two weeks after they trial against Gepps X and ROCS but I'd say that Uni's ability to survive and prosper over the years will show this year and seasons after.

BJ Ernest, my mail is both are definately playing for Modbury

Thanks for that! Very good players and both should go very well in Div 2 and personally i think they could both pull on the guernsey at any club and play in the A grade.
