i wasnt sure how good it was going to be this year without some of the regulars goin.. but sounded like it was pretty decent!

yeah your absentism was duly noted from this years trip - questions of having a heart muscle are being raised. also d pettmans' non-attendance as "not enough of us young blokes on the trip" - very dissapointing!!

gezz boys it couldnt of been that good if your all worried about who wasnt there, word is johnno and petto didnt have enough dvds to take with them, so they werent allowed on the bus

from what i was told SJ in his first season at angaston won only one game...
not very good...
and SJ wasnt to serious or anything.... He just changed his stance all the time, at the start of the season he said guys who didnt train or do any pre season etc werent gonna be playing a grade..
then virtually at the start of the season all these guys in question were playing a grade...

09 season should be interesting from reading some of the input on here. With a few new possible additions to the A Grade team, some guys will be forced back to the B's and so on down the line. So alot of the young blokes who think slotting into a B Grade position straight away in the year is a certainty may be mistaken. Spots will be hot in the A's and B's and I can see alot of good talent lining up in the C's and possibly D's and having to force their way in. I'm sure this may deflate a few ego's but it happened this year with alot of kids having to play C's purely out of lack of opportunity... Any thoughts anyone ??

I can see alot of unhappy and disillusioned kids that have possibly been pumping up their own tyres out there when their name doesn't pop up in the first 2 teams come the first game... It just wont be that easy and what happens in pre-season and training will have a huge impact on who gets noticed and who has the real desire. All the talk wont mean sh*t.....

Yeah i agree.... Coaches notice who is at training and who isnt at training... and the same with who trys and who doesnt. This will be a contributing factor in these young kids getting a spot in the first two sides.

Yeah i agree.... Coaches notice who is at training and who isnt at training... and the same with who trys and who doesnt. This will be a contributing factor in these young kids getting a spot in the first two sides.

60 into 42 doesn't go.... so if I was a young fella I'd be busting my ass and doing all the right things with my mouth shut to make sure you get that chance !!

Not at all !!! But sadly, I think C Grade = Pre-season !! I have already expressed my keen interest with theD Grade coach... Could be more beer drunk after one game down there than there was in the C Grade for the whole 08 season !!!

I think key forwards and big guys will get chances to prove themselves, but I sense that there are quite a few smaller, running players vying for limited spots.... I'd think it'd be the older guys that would be on edge more than the young ones again...

mate as much as i dont like to admit it but preseason is the best thing you can do, it is unbeleivable how it helps your game, i did it once, thats a full pre season and could not believe how it helped my game which in turn help the side, we even won the flag that year in the 1's, oh those were the days....

I think key forwards and big guys will get chances to prove themselves, but I sense that there are quite a few smaller, running players vying for limited spots.... I'd think it'd be the older guys that would be on edge more than the young ones again...

She is going to be a tough first selection and going on past experience with Mitch, the players who have done the pre-season hard yards will get their chance to play at the highest level first
