They must've spent too much time in their lawyers offices and not enough time on the track.

Great win by the hounds today- down by 3 goals at the last change and came home strong and held on in a tense last 1/4. Finally in Div 5 after coming close the past few years.
Condolences to TOS who played a great game and were in front the majority of the day. #34 Zorich I think was a clear standout and nearly won the game off his own boot.

On another note, I must say after being told before the game today we had Div 1 umpires that I feel sorry for the boys who play up at that level each week. I thought the umpiring standard was supposed to get better as you move up the divisions???. They were nothing short of shocking today and nearly cost us the game with stupid over officiating and trying to find free kicks. Not good enough SAAFL when so much is at stake.

mypaddock, sorry you were upset with the "D1" umps. they don't get any better , THEY only think they do. i am sure some D1 umps think they are only a phone call away from an AFL grand final. you blokes in the lower grades should not complain about the umps that you get during the year cos most of the umps in D1 and D2 have bigger egos than the players [ but no realistic idea of their abilty ]

I thought the standard of umpiring was very poor last week in the B grade match.....if thats the best umpires the league can come up with for higher divisions the its a worry. I thought perhaps the higher divisions players are alot better quality in their play and the umpires over officiated and seemed to want to pick out a free kick at each contest in our game .

Well done to Heccies for making the A grade grand final...its going to be a cracker of a match!

It's funny you say that - even though I didn't see the umpiring - some would call it over officiated and some would say that they're just picking up stuff that crappy div 6 umps dont.

I actually think your probably correct but it makes it hard when perhaps the players are not good enough to play to the level the umpiring requires....i know in our game even my opponent got frustrated with the umpires pulling free kicks out at every contest.
