Horse missed the first 5 games so doubt he will get anywhere near enough to win. Rumbles would have racked up a few in the 1st half of the season.

Just from what I've seen on game day and reading the best players in the paper I'd say it'll come from one of the following-

Bellman (BL)
Halliday (Eliz)
Ocenasek (Hec)
Miegel (AL)

I'd be very surprised if those 4 don't all finish in the top 10.

i reckon donners would be a chance from elizabeth cos the day we played them he virtually umpired the forward half of the ground, so surely would have given himself votes ;)

From Brahma Lodge:

Ian Bellman (Ruckmen)
Scotty MacIntyre
Michael Hayes

What are other thoughts.

going by Smithfield's record I will pick anyone from there - they seem to win the medal every year
Brahma Lodge wont have anyone in the top 10

think your right Exec, jossa will stand out in smithfields side, ben halliday will poll well, heccies will steal votes of each other so i'm going to go with the guy from rosewater Horshell i believe. finds the footy lots but so does his player but div 5 umpires dont know squat

Lets guess how many votes you will get Sourcey after that comment hahaha

I haven't seen Brahma Lodge play and I think Halliday didn't play against Havens but they seem to be the pace setters, I also agree that Hectorville are very even and will take votes off each other, Smithfields coach would be around the mark, if Meigel is the big guy then he definitely got 3 votes v havens at largs I would have thought someone from Plympton would poll pretty high, not sure who though

Speaking of Div 6, since my club is about to go down to div 6 for the first time, any of the BL or Heccies boys care to shed some light on the standard for me

WOS and GG lads would be able to shed light on this too.

Gave us a nice holding the ball free kick right in front of goal too

My thinking would be Halliday, Joss (will get votes in winning and losing games cos he runs and carries the ball), Macintyre (seven or more goals in a game is worth ATLEAST two votes), and a darkhorse from us will be Greenshields (nine or ten votes in last 5 games I'd say). Havent seen much of Heccies as I missed both games but im sure they have had some standouts.
Harsh but fair.....

i havnt seen a huge difference. think the biggest difference is the bottom teams are nowhere as good in div 6. i think the top 3-4 teams of last years div 6 would all have done pretty well in div 5. as you seen golden grove n WOS have gone straight up and both promoted teams are sitting #1 n 2 atm.

no one from heccies has had a season as good as pauly last year when he won. will be interesting to see how many votes olsen gets.he has only got in our best players only a couple of times this year. only gets bog if he gets 10 goals

better discipline in div 5 then div 6 but it isn't much different, CLG and trinity's sides last year would do well in div 5 this year as they are young and quick, theres more older players in div 5 which isn't a bad thing.

the bottom sides were the difference last year when you were guaranteed 20 plus goal wins and this year you have to be switched on from the start

i find div 5 a better standard now from when we used to play in it 4 or 5 years ago though

If so, what has been like?

He did the Plympton V Rosewater game on the weekend.
Would hope he hardens up a little.

2x25m due to the crowd
A player sent off for being too loud

And from two different accounts, was the hardest, roughest & dirtiest game he has ever umpired.
And I am sure all will agree who were present, there has been and will be better physical battles than the contest at Plympton on the weekend.

JP is from down our way, he plays cricket for us. He's a nice bloke but that all changed when I found out he was an umpire. We've had him a couple of times and he's been a bit whistle happy. He really trys to take control of the game and the crowd.

DK - did he umpire the game against BOS a few weeks back at your home ground??

Nah he didn't he umpired us earlier in the year. He umpired us when we play Plympton at plympton and one of our earlier home games- can't remember who we played though.
