SAAFL Div 7 & Div 7R (2011)

We have managed to get hold of some new faces, have hopefully convinced a couple more out of retirement to give us a hand, plus seemingly kept the core group from last year.

Not talking it up as there is nothing to be gained from being a January hero. I think Glenunga and Mawson Lakes and to a slightly lesser extent Ingle Farm are still the pre-season favourites. We could also benefit quite greatly from a big-bodied, talented, booming left footer, full forward with a surname starting with B - know anyone fitting that description?

If Batesy has returned I reckon those odds of 51/1 has all of a sudden dropped dramatically!

If Damien Bates has returned from Murrayville to Mitchell Park, there is another 100 goal a season Div 7 player. If he plays the full year, Mitchell Park WILL be Top 3 IMO.

Might have to pop by and have a look now that I have fitted quite nicely into the role of football spectator.

A Glenunga player has told me Buss brother also coming to Glenunga, dont know if any good, of course got the old "better than his brother".

That would be Damien I think, played at Salisbury West last year. Will be a very good player in Div 7, similar style to his brother but not quite on the same level.

Glenunga's B grade will be awesome this year. With all their allocated points used up each week the old B grade at Glenunga is going to get a strong 'Top Up' from the A's. How many recruits will play B grade out at Glenunga due to a 'Full House' particularly early when there are no injuries.

If you can name me the guys that add up to 15 points I'll give you a gold star Jugs. Guess what, you won't be able to

So many rumours....I can categorically tell you that not every player that has been mentioned as "going to Glenunga" is in fact coming!!

Also my understanding is still that all those people you have listed as 1 point are in fact 0. I am amazed that there is still no certainty amongst the SAAFL community with regard to this though. This interpretation seems to have changed a few times and I would not be surprised if I am ill informed. Even then, not 15 points I assure you (unless more arrivals)

That document is dated 12th November 2010. Its the only bit of info available on the website but can be interpretated in different ways. The way I read it was that the clubs were voting on whether or not to keep that system for 2011? As we know clubs have voted that in 2011 div 1-3 players are 3 points and the rest 2 points but does this change what was allocated in 2010?

Just spoke to SAAFL and they have confirmed all saafl to saafl recruits from last season 2010 were worth 1 point so effectively will be worth 0 this year if they're still on your books.....amazing how nobody is still on the same page only a couple months out from the season.

What about other leagues to SAAFL in 2010??

Other leagues are as in the APPS guidelines eg. SFL was 3 less the 1 for the year makes it 2 this year.

But it's worth checking which list of points you have as some leagues values were changed from last year to this year Mallee was 2 last year but is 3 this year.
