OVINGHAM PREMIERS 2008!!

OVIES ARE THE CHAMPS!! :D

Best in C2! Well done boys, now stop crapping on about it.

Winning the premiership isn't a great acheivement. Taking the club to div 7 with two teams and ensuring its survival would be.

'Winning the premiership isn't a great achievement'????? mmmm

Taking nothing away from your win, but you are an "A Grade" side in C2. And I really think that you should push into Div 7, and compete against other A grades. Then tell us how good you are.

Also cataroo - Best in the League? Wouldnt Goodwood be the best in the league taking out the div 1 flag???

It aint our fault the people who used to run the club were halfwits who enjoyed being successful in low divs. And being our only side you can hardly call it a grade because its our only grade!!

Not entirely sure... Im not sure if both relegated div 1 teams have c grade but it should Wingfield and Ovies both leaving..

would expect seaton to have a c grade and broadview c grade to be allowed to play much lower as the team is full of totally deaf people just having a social kick. their side was found out ridiculously in c1 this year.

shoc's c's play in div 7 as do henley - c1 may have only 8 sides with c2 running nine or ten depending on wingfield/broadview.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

are wingfield folding or can they get numbers to get a B grade together? i'd say folding if i was to guess...

also with Ovingham looking to play in Div 7, i know this has been brought out before but would a move to a larger oval be on the cards.... i remember someone mentioning the Mawson Lakes oval, is that still unoccupied?

i play at Ovingham and the oval is too small for mine... i like it cos i can rack up the touches even though i'm pretty unfit but still way too crowded...

Surely you would develop a game plan to suit, it would be a huge "Home Ground Advantage". I must admit, I've played one game there back in 95, it was the worst game I've ever played, I don't know whether it was the congestiveness of the oval or the fact that my daughter was born the day before and had a big Friday night.

If the Ovingham Football club is on Churchill Road, that's where they should play, you'll take away history and atmosphere by looking for an alternative ground. Has anyone ever scored from a kick-in?

scoring from a kick-in.... doubt it has or would ever happen, unless there is a massive wind...

it is easy to hit centre wing from a kick in though... and a goal in two possesions has happened a couple of times!

my only thought was if a move would be a feasable option.... if we were to play in Div 7 and then move up to Div 6 in 2010 or beyond would that small oval be suitable to play higher level football than where we are at now?

we do have a game plan which does work quite well, i guess the only thing is that we implemented it late in the year and used it maybe twice...

You were in div. 5 when I played there, I wouldn't think it would be out of the question with a strong wind with some of the legs I've seen over the years.
