I did not say i know what all players are getting, I said I know what Wilson was offered and i suggested that a lot of players have been recruited. Now by a lot I really do mean alot. Somewhere between 17-20 is more recruits in a season than I have ever heard of.....

Also, i haven't personally attacked anyone and then hid behind my anonimity either Andy. I have simply made obvservations, some of which involve your club, and given my opinion. Is whatever i say gospel....no. Do I expect everyone on here to believe everything I say.....no.

17 - 20 recruits in one season is basically buying a team!

You're right stan it is......And if they try and say that 17-20 is an inflated number (which I am sure they will) then they should check with the club because I was told that by one of their gun recruits.....

I didn't say you attacked a person but you did attack the club.

Your backpedal is accurate however. I would just like to put it in perspective though. Most of last year's team has left so it's not as if that is 17 recruits on top of a heap of current A graders. We needed to recruit that many to have a competitive side. Some old players have returned and some players friends have also come out.

Now that we've got a strong squad the year is looking promising for the club and the off field situation is looking good with a few more new guys helping the stalwarts that have kept the place together over the last few years. With that and the gym, obviously the idea to build the club back to its former strength and not have player turnover like that again.

Backpedal are you serious. Did you study comprehension at school? I wasn't back pedalling at all, just claryfing the things you clearly didn't understand.

boozehound wrote:What a joke!! They have recruited so many players it ridiculous. Wonder how they will gel together?

with the exception on a couple of good mates down that way I hope the clubs suffers for it and realises that to build a successful club that competes regularly in div 1 u need to BUILD the side over a few years and retain players not buy twenty players from here there and everywhere and try and buy a flag.

In a couple of years time if and when they move through the divisions a div 3 flag will have done nothing more that burn a hole in their pocket. It's just a shame that the salary cap is too difficult to enforce and in the end is pointless.

boozehound wrote:my source is fairly close to the bloke and says he hasn't signed ....yet. wasn't impressed with the $500 a week plus nice sign on.....good cash for div 3 from kilburn

boozehound wrote:kashburn

boozehound wrote:Oh come on....we all know there are ways to get around the salary cap and Kilburn will blow it this year for sure........

"sponsors" paying players directly, Supporter clubs doing the same thing...it's a joke.....

Rumours about what clubs are spending are just that but generally when there is smoke there is fire. Look at the big picture; A heap of rumours about large player payments, a heap of new and well credentialled recruits, it all points to Kilburn blowing the cap this year no worries.

Do you or do you not know how much people are being paid, and how else could you know we are going to blow the cap. Or are you saying that you might know what one bloke is getting paid (probably not) then guessing that we are breaking the cap. The post was a fair backpedal from those above.

Boys - let's end the debate on Kilburn and its recruits for now.
Boozehound, you've made your point.
Andy #24, you've defended your club valiantly.

It's time to put it to bed.

i believe a guy from glenelg reserves and under 19's was training for a while out at eastern park over the summer but ended up taking up some big money offer to go to canberra to play with the eastlakes footy club. I have just heard that after being put up for a few weeks and having money chucked at him he has done the dirty on eastlakes and is back in adelaide. Any chance he has been back out to the parkies as he would be a very handy ruckmen come CHF. Any news demongirl, boozehound?

Shaun Tait to line up for Kilburn this year.

Apparently the reason he gave up cricket was that he couldn't refuse the offer from the chicks.

Yeah a few idiots were being stupid the other night apparently. Hope it doesn't reflect badly on the rest of them as vast majority seem like nice guys and just hang around playing basketball and soccer.

Do they use the facilities at the club much?

Apparently a couple of the lads look like they might turn out to be handy footballers...

Nah, it's hard to get them involved because there are so many of them. One guy Danny played last year and he was very athletic. Obviously the way to get everyone happy is to integrate them but it's hard to put that many people who can't play into a football club.

Maybe the SANFL should send a crack team over to train them up.
