DO IT DO IT wrote:TEX you toss. SHOC had two blokes that played E grade the week they played Golden Grove(qualifying final) both coming back from injury that played D grade this week. One hadn't played for 4 weeks. SHOC picked a squad of roughly 24 for the D grade first week of the finals that didn't play any grade. Do you really think that SHOC's D grade would battle all year to get a week off to then stack their E grade. Isn't that what teams play for during the minor round. If they played up at Harpers Field they played cause thats the team they play for. If they played for the D grade in the final minor round game it was cause they had 12 out knob.
But good stiring though.

Settle down there, i didnt go through your team with a fine tooth comb, dont have the time or the want to do so. If it didnt happen this way then so be it and I was wrong, I am in no way trying to stir anything, it is not my way. If they play E grade then I will assume we will see them this week and none of the guys that played saturday for your D grade will be there no worries. My point still stands and it is the point I was making that the ruling of free interchange in finals is dumb, why should any side even be able to have the opportunity to stack thier side, I have no problems with sides having players play the majority in any grade anbd qualifying for that grade but to be able to have a player drop down to any grade because all sides are in is the only point I was making. SHOC may not do it, awesome. 3 posts and you want to start getting personal, well done to you.

TEX just think before you type. Do a little research before making a very broad statement. I think SHOC will drop a heap down to their E grade rather than having the week off.
And you did say that you looked at the team sheets so you must have a bit of spare time.

Now you are just confusing me? are you now saying SHOC will drop a heap or are you misquoting me???? I said I had a quick look at the week before the final and had another look today, no big deal not such a broad statement. I never said that they will drop anyone, again I will say I was commenting on my opinion of the rule that says that they are allowed to do so, if a club was stupid enough to drop a heap of playersm giving away any advantage they had by having the week off then that is their business.

How are Marshall and Bear?

I didn't play yesterday due to injury but i think i now know who you are. Was it 55?

Yep, thats me. Not sure about Marshy and bear yet, to be honest cant see either getting up but you never know, bear more likely I would say but have not heard how Marshy ended up. Your last quarter was awesome, we couldnt get the ball forward as hard as we wanted to, your midfield were on top of us early but once we made a couple of changes we got back into the game, we also went in a ruckman down which made ours ruck alone all day.

Yeah that tough on your ruckman especially when it's warm and sunny. You guys certainly looked good in the second and third qrt and i was very worried. It was sort of the same as when we played you guys at Harpers. Only 15mins of footy separated us.

What do you think of the association umps? From the side they looked terrible, especially the older guy. I was absolutely stunned by some of their decisions either way. I would much rather club umps, at least you know what your going to get!!

To be honest I thought that we had the fair run with the umps for most of the game, all I can say is that there were some that they could have let go and some that were there. In the end it didnt change anything in the game. I personally like the association umpires, there is no chance of anyone getting a raw deal from the umpires and no one can be accused of getting through with an ordinarry umpire. Yesterdays umpires let a heap of haolding the ball decisions go, they did it all day and for both sides so for that I couldnt complain, I guess being out there helped because they explained this all day.

We certainly need to play at another level to get over SHOC this week to have another crack at you guys!

Not sure of the final score but FP won by 30, they kicked the 6-1 in the first quarter and then we came out and did the same. Held them to 1 goal and we kicked one against a decent wind to go into the last 3 points down. FP kicked away in the last, once they had kicked the first 2 goals of the last quarter we were up against it and they had a good run on. Marshal split his finger I believe and bear had a driver strain. Not sure how they will come up but I know both will do all they can to get there.

As above one club, couldn't have said it better. The old man kicked 3 very important goals. he was a very happy old man after the game. :D

Marshy has a compound fracture of the finger and spoke to Bearskie last nite and has done his driver fairly badly. Sounds as if both out for remainder of year....not ideal!!

Not ideal at all!

Massive losses for us, both big targets and not what we needed to lose.

Draft finals fixture has us and SHOC at Harpers at 2:15 this Saturday.

Hope the club trumps up again and gives us another home final.

Not sure why it would be at 2:15 when we have played the 12:15 timeslot all year??

My thoughts on the game was that FP clearly won the 1st and 4th quarters, we won the 2nd and the 3rd was a stalemate. Golden Grove (us) need to realize that only winning one quarter will not win games against quality sides, and also that flinders park will damage you if you switch off for 5 minutes. Our midfield was clearly beaten for most of the game, I reckon FP would have won 80% of the clearances out of the middle. Their forward line is potent if you give them a chance to create space, and they certainly know how to run in numbers. I agree with Tex that at 3/4 time we might have thought that the wind would help us out alot, but clearly hard work trumps the wind.

Not good news for you lads. A real shame actually cause they are both nice fella's. All your blokes have been really good, i don't think we have had any trouble really during any of our games. Cosidering how competitive we are and matched so evenly. Hey good luck this weekend it will be a bit tougher without Marshy and Bear but i still think you will make it. Ohh Tex no long sleeves this week 27 on saturday!!! ;)

We hope not that we dont miss one again but we also are not taking SHOC lightly at all, losing the two big guys up forward will hurt us but we have won without them this year aswell. We will be doing everything we can to get over the line and would be an absolute waste of a season for us to not make it!
