i know this is a different scenario but there are blackfriars lads in the higher grades most linked directly with mates to our club.
Div 1 alone - ROCS - 1, Adelaide Uni - 4, Broadview - 2, Salisbury North 1. that i know of. If we can jag a couple over the next few years i think it would help send our club in a very good direction.

and other assorted quotes regarding loyalty.

what's wrong with people leaving the bosom of the school/junior grade and expanding their horizons into different leagues or teams? people swap jobs, move interstate and search for new experiences and influences - i think that loyalty to a club is a great thing and a noble ideal but it can also cloister a person's world.

i think its good to see clubs like hope valley endeavour to climb the grades and hope that they have success in doing so and i appreciate the fact (and effort) that cj started up blackfriars (even if i believe that playing with old scholars teams is a little close to replicating the good ol' college days).
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

Any Heccy's boys on here.. good game by the way it was a good battle on a good oval...
anyway is your goal umpire always like that? called a goal when it was a dead set point plus reports two of our guys for absolutely nothing.. kills the game when ppl have to get dragged over to the bench whilst the name goes into the book and we wait half an hour for the ball up to commence... seriously goal umpires have to stay out of it, unless it's something huge they see. doubting a clear point and he reports someone from a result of that, what a farce

The thing is it probably settled our team better to kick ahead...

Not from 1 club, moved over from interstate years ago and have taken a real interest in footy in the northern suburbs, spose my home club would be modbury but only due to the suburb i live in. Watch all games though, Gaza, Broadview, TTG, Mod, Hope Valley, Athelstone. Keep my ear to the ground for all clubs.

Birdwood - P Low, A Rowett, J Curtis, R Williams. Broadview - C Appleby, B Appleby, R Richter.
Gepps Cross - J Palmer, J Phillpott, A Lunn, T Holyrim, D Moore. CBCOC - N Piliciwecz
Mount Lofty - B Burch. Uraidla - M Anderson

9 of these players played in our U/17's premiership a few years back. A few of them have said if we can get up to
div 5 they'll look at coming back. I know it does happen to a lot of clubs, but i guess where I was going with it was defending
sharky's comment of us not being proud of our club and explaining how tough it is to get higher up when we constantly lose
these talented youngsters...

Did some asking around after your reply, think you missed T Wright (TTG) and M Stevens (Broadview) off the list, both Vice Captains of their respective clubs. Probably would be a handy inclusion to that list you wrote up before.
