My issue has nothing to do with Mitchell Park or Luke or anything like that, my point is that it's stupid and unfair that the provision is there in the league that a club if they wanted to could drop a player from A to C grade, I think it creates a world of possible headaches and problems - what happens if a clubs A & B grade look very likely playing finals and C grade are on the cusp, what's to say the club might decide to give some B graders experience in A grade and push half a dozen A graders to C grade to help push them up into the finals?
Won't get any argument from me mate. Mitchell Park have been on the end of a couple of finals losses over the years when Old Scholar teams have stacked their C Grade. Would have happened last year against SHOC as well if we didn't have such a strong side.

I know a couple of the higher ups clubs liked the idea of being able to play some of their senior players in their C's when coming back from injury so that they could plat at the 2:15 timeslot but also so that they could play against the slower paces but more mature "men" of Div 6 and Div 7.

Should be exceedingly hard to drop players down grades. Not sure what the system or answer is...

I think he can and I think he will..

I think Payneham to win the flag as most of us would and for the medal my favourite would have been Fordy from Payneham as well but now I'm thinking Krieg might even get that one too as he would be polling a few votes with those bags of goals!

Goal kicking award is sorted, who's everyone else's favourites to take out the Premiership and also the C4 Medal?

Yeah hard to see Krieg not getting the magical ton - 32 goals to go from 8 games and a few of the lower sides to come + home games where the ground suits him.

Hard to see Payneham not going all the way, I think Lockleys are the next best though from what i've seen, although I get to see TOS again this week so might change my mind

Fordy probably medal favourite at this stage whether he has polled enough to lead and hold on will be tough, and interesting to see that given PNU dominant season whether he dominates the voting or not.

Others i think may poll well:
Krieg (TOS) - cant give big bags each week and get over looked by the umpires!
Foody (Lockleys) - rate him very highly, if he plays most of the remaining games I think he may well take it.
Gully (Ingle Farm) - LOL very unlikely, just being a little biased, but playing every game will be the only reason he may poll well.

If you are so concerned about clubs stacking lower grades with "A" graders lobby the league that a player may only drop one grade from where they last played. No permits or other shites to drop more than one grade. At least then "A" graders can only drop to the "B"s etc the same way as if they got dropped due to form. Therefore if a "A" grader comes back from injury he can't start any lower than the B's.

Well done to TOS today, showed why they are the 2nd side. We threw everything at them but they were good enough to snatch the points.. tough loss, makes out fight for finals a little tougher but hopefully we will be better for it..

That's correct, it's tough when you have blokes working on rosters in the mines, injuries and our first year back with a C grade so was always going to be a tough gig, will keep working on it and I am sure next year will see some better results.

We have no intentions of pulling the C grade out, will be working even harder to be more competitive next year

Just want to thank the PNU boys on the Saturdays game, a great group of lads that enjoy there footy

Normally i post on a Saturday about the opposition and the game but i was side tracked post game by the drinking i was doing with the Para Hills lads. It was a really good day out at the Hills. Yes the score board was one sided but both teams got plenty from the game. Good to see a couple of very good young lads stepping up against some big bodied PNU guys. We even gave them a couple of players a quarter to help them get to the 18 quotta and facilitated some of our young boys getting more game time.

To go to a bar and try and by a 9 drink round and have the bar lady turn away my $50 nearly bought a tear to my eye :) i reckon about a dozen Payneham boys hung round with the PH boys for over an hour sucking on a cold few and enjoying what was a good day and great example of what C grade footy should be all about.

Thanks for a great day and good luck for the rest of the year lads. Again it takes buckets of integrity and love for the game to front up when you know you will only have 15 blokes and your on a hiding to nothing. Para Hills won my respect on the weekend and i,ll be sure to give the lads a big shout out on Saturday gameday tomorrow from 10am-12 on wowfm.com.au or 100.5FM 8)

=D> That is probably the best thing I have heard this season. I remember as a junior it used to happen occasionally when the opposition was short, but never in seniors, i think sides get to focussed on winning and % they are happy to just flog the crap out of a struggling side. I guess your side is in a good enough position though to do it, well clear at top and probably wont lose a game.

The hospitality we received after the game from Para Hills was exceptional and greatly appreciated! Had our side not had prior plans for after the game i think we may well have been stuck there half the night!
It's good to see more of the camaraderie and sides sticking around after the games this year, it's definately what C grade footy is about but something that seems to be lacking in recent years.

Any side that struggles through the season and cops some of the beltings they have yet continue to soldier on deserve and have my respect, it's a credit to the club and side as a whole. =D>

No. You need to take more notice of me and Macca and the way we co-ordinate our runs to ensure the great ones messages are delivered precisely when he wants them.

I know. I am waiting for the day he takes a mark and runs off down the field with the footy. Gets lost out there sometimes

Cheers to the Trinity lads for putting on the game Friday night for us, just a shame we couldn't put on a better showing. We would have been screwed for numbers if we had to play Saturday. We would have been playing with 16 with only 18 guys available instead of the 21 we had and no one to umpire. As it was we didn't have any B graders double up which was good for the club with them pushing for a finals berth.

As for the game it was boys vs men all over the ground, too big, too strong and too skilled for our lads. First qtr we were a rabble with half of the side not getting to the ground until just before the start time. 2nd and 3rd we held on pretty well but we were buggered by the last qtr and they blew the scoreboard out. Hopefully we'll learn from that and be more competitive in the last 5 weeks. 4 games at home, 3 triple headers and the only travel left is to CLG so a good run home.

Good hit out Saturday against Mitchell Park, always a tough game. I think we might see those lads sometime around September.

Really looking forward to the triple header against the TOSsers this Saturday at PNU in a battle of 1 v 2. Should be a huge crowd as we play the late game after the A grade and we have a few iconic characters playing this year who the people of Payneham like to watch. Despite the fact that we have the month ahead on the road after this contest if we manage to win we should have secured top spot and the first week of the finals off. 8)
