and..?

you would have someone on him even if he was playing back pocket..a player like that would obviously be in the backlines setting the plays up..

he would go well in div 1

Rigney and Newchurch ok on their day but didnt give us a huge amount last year IMO.

OE be able to say more after clearances open...but seems ok.. tried to recruit some youth..so time will tell I guess... like to think we will be around the mark again... numbers have not been that great but still early.. so again ..time will tell.
If Goldsmith is fit, he will absolutely tear Division 6 apart. No team will be able to stop him.

they all looked very well and super fit was probably most impressed with newchurch's fitness and ball use was also impressed with a bloke named willie i guess thats sainsbury?? short stocky blokes?

Forgive me if this has been spoken about already. I was talking to an old player and member of Greenacres on the weekend and he said that Greenacres are changing their name? He said they will no longer be called Greenacres but rather something Dragons. Any comments from Greenies people?

Not from Greenacres but I did hear the name "Northern Dragons" bandied around before Xmas.

I heard this as well and a possible adding of red into their colours.

There is an element of truth in all the above comments re .. Greenacres

But nothing to do with the senior teams....... :(

We are attempting to get our junior programme on track and are calling them the Northern Dragons with a fair bit of red in the gurnseys and a revamped dragon as suggested by the marketing people.

We had a registration day yesterday which was moderatly successfull (despite the heat)

So if any one has some kids looking for a kick and a catch go to http://www.northerndragonsjfc.com.au

Good move by Greenacres, with the points system coming in, getting juniors to head through the ranks and end up playing in the A Grade at 0 points has to be a priority and they've taken the first step towards that. Good luck to them.

Salisbury's new lights started going up yesterday. Should be finished by the end of the month, great news for our club, although I'm not sure how much the senior sides will use them this year.

I'd love to know too and what percentage the council paid for them?
We're crying out for new lights down at Mawsons...at this stage i'm gonna have to purchase 40 odd miners hats for us to wear during the winter nights :D

Does make it easier for us if the Cs and Ds play together. Having two teams at one ground, and two at another, makes a lot more logistical and financial sense than having three at one and one at another.

Not sure exactly, the council did have something to do with applying for the grant from state/federal governments. I believe Para Hills' new lights are under the same banner, and the new Soccer Park at Burton. Northern Districts CC are interested in playing T20s underlights I believe which was the main reasoning for them being pushed for so hard.
