Just something I heard on the grapevine this week also. Glenunga aparently looking better over the off season. I heard no names but by all reports numbers are good.

Yeah, I agree FootyMad! A club that has gone from div 7 to div 6 is a force to be reckoned with! Div 6 will never be on the map for the very reason that any club which is any good will go up a division. What have they done that has been worthwhile FM? I heard some crap about them years ago and thought they must be a decent club, but where have they been? In div 7.

they ravaged a southern league team last year for their coach and players and dancing girls...wonder how many actually live this side(northern) of flinders uni..they certainly wont get it all their own way in div 6..brahma, glenunga heccies and valleys will provide stiff competition..i dont think they will go straight thru div 6 at all..each grade is a jump up

I think they will go alright, when they dominated div 7 the first time, they had a good team but then lost a few players when they went into div 6. Then went down, now its fair to say they have a good team. And have keep the players they recruited and have even recurited further. So I think it will do ok. Anyway hope the private sponsers are doing ok ;) - just one for you there scotty.

Yeah i'd be surprised if they did not play finals, but still I was basing my comments on the post that described CLG as climbing the divisions over the next few years.

Heard from Houghton's footy director that they've recruited well and are expected to do well in 2008. Got a couple of big blokes signed up and expect big things in 2008 and are tired of everyone rating their facilities as "the worst in the SAAFL". They expect to play hard, and hope to god that most of them train come July...

I've heard that training hasn't been very well supported out at Fawk Reserve and out Brahma Lodge way? No C grade for the hawkers this year? Hawkseye, scorpion? Brahma Lodge making some phone calls? - Knighter??

Recruited very well? I would assume that meant using some dollars to get players out there.

Any club director that says that they expect to go up a div this year is just asking for trouble. I remember in 2003 North Pines came to Kenilworth in rd.1 and were going on about how good they were and they expected to play in a GF in both grades. Fair to say we sent them back to power lines oval with a 10 goal belting in both grades, A's missed out on September infact..........
