Now shake hands and go and play nicely please
If some galah from another div jumped on here and started throwing barbs at your club would you shake hands with them FC?
Hollywood on the rampage! some big comments directed at PFC I would have to say things arent as rosy on and off the field at the kennel as a few on here would have u think. As with alot of footy clubs there are alot of people with different agendas and when the team is losing these seem to come to the surface alot more. I too have been present when a couple of new players have been givin a mouthful from long time club people while they were sitting at the bar hardly what you want to happen if the club wants these guys to stick around(this has happened twice)but a win this weekend and all of a sudden the supporters are back on your side, thats the fickle nature of supporters
Thats the thing as it has always been with plympton and the bar flies that have been there for years including jabber they would rather bag the players than actually support them. Funny thing is how many A grade games has he played 1 i think and it was the funniest thing ive ever seen. And Jabber is a hypocrite bags the team then when someone speaks up he has a has a dig at them for telling it how it is. Classic classic classic

the reality is our b grade ump wouldn't travel to a neutral ground. he wants to umpire our games and does it fairly. why fix something that isn't broken, there's only a few that err on the side of their own club, but i think div 5 is pretty good at B grade level.
saw one of the umps we had against plympton doing junior footy at smosh on sunday and he is an extremely competent umpire, shame there is not more like him doing the late games. maybe performance based pay would help.

At present we pay $100 for a bad umpire, should we pay more for a good ump or less for what we're getting?

Fair enough, I think teams should still lodge umpire reports in the B's so the SAAFL & the club umpires can get a gist of their performance. You don't get much feedback generally on where you are going right or wrong once the game has finished, I know I get disappointed with myself if I feel as though I've umpired poorly or missed things.

Jabber wrote:Absolutely spot on, B Grade ump reports should be compulsory.
That way if there is a trend where an umpire is seen to be cheating, or whatever, an umpires observer can be sent out to have a look. If the observer has a problem with the ump then a letter can be sent to the club advising of this, and that a different ump should be found, or a league appointed one will be used at the clubs expense.
Or the ump can be follwed up later in the year if need beLightning McQueen wrote:sprinttospace wrote:Executive Member wrote:Was just playing - I like the idea of non club umpires thats the reason we are doing it with our C Grade - it takes away the perception of cheating
